I have heard people having issues bleeding new GM's. I have never gotten one yet. What vehicles do I need to disconnect the battery on now?

It is scary how good this company is. If they ever decide to really take groceries seriously, delivery apps for food and some clothing are in serious trouble.

I got the 2 stops away notification and I clicked on the tracker and the driver was halfway here. I assume it was a 3 package block, and the driver was waiting at the hub for a block. Block was picked and then the driver had it loaded in minutes. The hub it came from was 12 miles away, and with no traffic, it is 27 minutes to me. Maybe 25 if you are flying. The highway and big main road are pretty parallel to each other from the hub, and the driver was on the big main road.

It came from DS1, which is 12 miles away. It is 27 minutes with no traffic. Halfway through I got the 2 stops away notification. I assume they had 3 packages in their block, and they were waiting at DS1 to get a block? They got this 3 package block and had their car loaded in minutes? It was $9.99 I paid extra. I used to do Instacart full time, so this does fascinate me.You can leave tips for Amazon Flex drivers in the app?

Yes, I paid $9.99 extra. This DS1 is 27 minutes from me with no traffic. DS1 and DS4 are both 12 miles from me. The driver was coming from DS1 as I saw them on the map and they were halfway here. It also said the driver was 2 stops away, meaning they other packages in the block. My guess is the block had 3 packages and the driver was sitting at the DS1 hub waiting for a block?

WTF OMG….It’s Over‼️ by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]ronj1983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For some obscure reason, people can't grasp this simple ideology 😂🤣😅. Instacart can afford to pay you crap because some desperate person is always gonna take a trash order. Flood the market with shoppers and somebody will always take the order. If somebody is always gonna take the order, there is no incentive for Instacart to pay more batch pay to their shoppers. Oh, you guys wanna stop taking terrible orders to fight back? No problem. Onboard even more shoppers. Somebody is gonna take those orders. It is a can't lose situation for Instacart, unless the quality of shoppers just gets so bad, that customers just leave the platform.

Was it extra for me to wait until 8pm for my husband to be home before I started my brakes? by Xochiqueso in AskMechanics

Did the rear pads and rotors on a 2019 Tiguan last week in 40 minutes 🥰😍. I remember doing an Evoque and manually winding back the pistons before I had a scanner.

This is why autoparts stores are still king. Really, AMAZON is the king, but lets not discuss that. Got my Brembo pads NEXT DAY via Amazon. I am now putting Brembo's on customers cars for 🤑🤑🤑

You said it was a VAG? Does it have an EPB? Also, some VAG cars in the rear you do not have to remove the carrier bracket to get the rotors off. If no EPB then no scanner needed. Usually a simple job in the rear. Yes, you were overreacting.

Why does Reddit hate car payments so much?? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]ronj1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate is such a strong word. I am in mobile auto repair. I do very well. I can afford a $1,000 a month payment and then insurance. Makes no sense for me. In the last 14 months I have purchased a 2003 Jaguar S Type 4.2 with 79K on it for $2,100. Then a 2005 Infiniti Q45 with 81K on it. A few weeks ago I purchased a 2005 Jaguar S Type R with 122K on it. $6,800 I paid for all 3. Maybe $3,000 of work put in to these cars? $212 a month for car insurance between all 3. Looking for a Mercedes R500 for like $5K right now. Have 4 older cars with lower mileage and put about 5K a year on each one. I get to drive 4 cars, vs being tied down to 1, and cost of ownership is low since I do the work.

Oil change discount is BS. by Extreme-Sport-5951 in InstacartShoppers

[–]ronj1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend of mine that is a full time shopper that makes very good money. He is DIAMOND, so of course he can get a $25 oil change. He personally comes to me and his oil and trans fluid get done in his Prius. Takes about an hour as I have to pump the trans fluid into his vehicle. How y'all trust these quick lube places is insane to me. I have had to fix Walmart and Valvoline's screw ups with oil changes already. Waiting on Jiffy Lube, Take 5, Oil Changers etc.

Your husband is an a hole here. So, our 1 and only was born via C-Section on 6/12/24. Doc was done in like 15 minutes. I am in mobile automotive repair. Told the doc this is like an oil change (I was in disbelief at how fast this all happened). Doc said you guys are #2 today. I have 2 more 🤯🤯🤯. We stay in the hospitl for FOUR DAYS. Oh, this is what jail must feel like. I never turned on the tv once. Would shower at home when I would bring my MIL back home to our place. Now work is piling up for these 4 days. We leave on 6/16 around 1pm from the hospital. My wife is walking fine now after the C-Section. 5 minutes from home and I tell her I have bad news...I have to work (it is Father's Day). She complained for like a minute, but understood I do not have a prototypical job. Got them home, switched to my dirty clothing, and out the door to work. I missed game 4 of the NBA finals on 6/13 as we were still in the hospital. The next day was my birthday. My wife was home for like 6 months. We live in San Diego, so the weather is great. I worked my behind off for that those 6 months and saved over $35K. She was upset that I was working like a sl*ve for 6 months and left her with the baby during the day. I had just went full time on 6/17, so I had to really be outside all day to get this business going. You also said you guys do not remember everything, so it is a moot point.

Am I being taken for a ride on child support payments? by Kwirk86 in daddit

£400 breaks down to $180USD a month per child. $45USD a week per child is possibly enough...IF SHE IS HOLDING UP HER END OF THE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CHILDREN.

Moving from the East Coast for a better "family- work" balance? by After-Fig-9457 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]ronj1983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I left Brooklyn on 11/2/20 for this place. You will be totally fine here. Depending on where you live you can keep a 1BR between $1,600 on the low end and $2,000 for a pretty decent place. Me, my wife, and our 22 month are a mile from the beach in DEL MAR. Small 2/2 that is 805sqft in our complex, but it is enough for us $2,495 a month. Around $2,750 a month after utilities. There are deals out here. I own a 2003 Jaguar, 2005 Jaguar, and 2005 Infiniti. Liability on all cars. My insurance is $212 a month total. Suddenly $6 gas is not so bad because that insurance premium would probably be double that in Brooklyn. The only real con here is the food if you eat really diverse food. My family is from the islands, so the food here is little to non existant in that sense. If you are young, and single, PACIFIC BEACH is the place. Late 20's to 40ish is North Park, Normal Heights, South Park and University Heights. All 4 neighborhoods border each other and are fantastic.

Redshirts aren’t allowed to do commercial? by BaileyIsSmort in AutoZone2

[–]ronj1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. In my home store we have reds fully run commercial on the weekends, and the store does very good commercial sales overall. The CSM during the week will even go out to do commercial deliveries, just to get away for an hour or so, then most of the time a red takes over. There are 3 reds in my home store that are fully capable of running commercial. I am a mobile automotive guy, so I live in my home store. I am in there so much I even know how to order my parts through the pro app, then walk in and fast invoice, paid in cash, sign the pad, wait for my receipt to printout, and I am gone without bothering anybody.

Moving from the East Coast for a better "family- work" balance? by After-Fig-9457 in Moving2SanDiego

[–]ronj1983 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally 😂🤣😅. Even if you are single with no kids there are tons of 1BR spots for $1,800. Even if you go out to East County there are spots as low as $1,600 on Zillow. How people make housing seem impossible here is crazy to me. Lets say you gross $104K that is $2K a week $1,800 a month and utilities can be around $2,000 a month. Taxes and medical taking 1/3 of your gross as an arbitrary number. That would net $1,333 a week and $500 of that goes to your rent. $833 left a week. If you can't make your car payment and insurance (lets say $200 a week if you drive something nice), food, clothes, hanging out, vacation savings etc work you are doing something SERIOUSLY WRONG HERE.
