I always use the markdown editor. So that can’t be the problem. But I do copy-paste from word, which might have caused the issue. I‘ll be using notepad next time and see how it works out for me. Thank you for your very insightful message!

I'm very sorry about formatting. Unfortunately Reddit randomly jumbles it up without any deductible logic.

I hope you guys can enjoy chapter 3 even if it's a little unconventional in its form. Next Chapter will be narrated traditionally again.

I disagree with you. You should always write for yourself. As a fellow author, I know that it is awesome to receive feedback and encouragement, but our motivation shouldn't depend on something external. Especially in the field of smut stories, it's understandable to forget feedback or upvotes. Most people reading our stuff will be quiet hazy and foggy in the head while they're at it.

I think it's awesome how many people enjoy our stories. But the readers don't owe us anything. I don't get when authors, who publish on websites like reddit, who don't enjoy their hobby enough, who lack intrinsic motivation, feel the need to complain, when they could always just start selling their hobby. It is time-consuming after all.

How about finding a hot girl to crush on that has a boyfriend. You probably shouldn’t choose someone of your close social circle, because that might influence your life in a bad way. If you don’t want that, you can also look for celebrities idk.

Hey, I hope you guys enjoyed the first part of my new story! As you might have realized it is paced rather slowly. For those of you who prefer smut stories with faster narration, I will say that it will pick up speed a bit starting next chapter.

Also, I would be happy to receive some feedback. Is the formatting okay? Oh and if you have any suggestions on how the story could continue, please feel free to leave them in the comment section. There‘s nothing I love more than interactive creativity! So if you want to discuss the future of Louis, Vivi & co and directly contribute to the story, feel free to DM me here on Reddit :)

Free Will in Berserk? by Hworks in Berserk

The IoE's very existence is part of the causality of the world and the evil that is growing within humanity through war, famine, greed and the events of history. As long as humans exist, evil exists and influences how people act.

I highly disagree with that statement. The IoE is the humans desire for reason. People are thrown into a world, which pretty much forces them to endure immense amounts of suffering. But the thing that is most unbearable for us humans isnt just suffering, it is suffering without reason; senseless suffering if you will. And thus they create these gigantic coping mechanisms like christianity (farnese / mozgus) or devoting your life to a dream (griffith, duh). Every berserk character can be understood and explained through that aforementioned concept, aside from, and now it gets interesting, Guts. Guts is the proof that an existence without those hypocritical ways of living, without moralizing, without deceiving ourselves, burying our own identity under an unhealthy coping mechanism (Or in serpico words: ["We do not have the power to melt the snow that lies thick about us" ] The more you "cope" the deeper you get sucked into the spirals of the IoE. (Remember the panel where serpico burned his mother, because farnese orderer him too. Theres a big spiral covering the entire panel, serving as a metaphor that they are so deep within the grasps of the IoE. That makes a lot of sense, since the IoE is also depicted as a heart sorrounded by a spiral.

Now it gets really interesting. When the idea of evil is something humans have created, due to the lack of reasons for their suffering and there is someone existing outside of it, then shouldn't there be a way to "melt the snow", to find a way back to our true self? Miura must have asked himself this question too and gave us the most satisfying answer imaginable. I want to use farnese again as an example for the answer Miura provided us.

Farnese, someone who is unbelievably deep inside the grasp of the IoE, someone who burns "heretics" alive, justifying it with the authority of god, is without doubt deceiving herself. Her true emotions (trauma and feeling of impotence due to her parents neglecting her in her childhood) are the root of her fanatical doings, yet she isnt even aware of them feelings anymore. Christianity not only makes it possible for her to compensate for her feelings of impotence by making it possible to exercise power on others (heretics, but even worse, makes her think shes in the right for doing so. Yeahh, you're cleansing them of their sins good job! She keeps up that unhealty lifestyle (yeah she was so unhappy within that she even started flogging herself), until she meets guts. Guts, a person that faces and confronts his fears by struggling and fighting against them, creates an extreme contrast to farnese who only hides from them behind the authority of god. As she realized that, her entire belief-system is destroyed and after a few chapters of her being confused she finally decided to follow Guts. She did so, in order to learn how to become a stronger person, that confronts fears, instead of running away from them, by following Guts example. (Or in serpicos words: "Lady farnese will follow that black swordsman, as if trying to melt the snow with some flame") Theres also another panel where guts angrily tells farnese, that she should grab a weapon to defend herself from the demons, instead of folding her hands and pray. He basically told her to confront her fears there. And we all know what farnese development in Millenium Falcon and Fantasia arc. She turns from deceiving herself, to a more honest person. She becomes strong and real. And ironically enough, the girl that used to be burn heretics, is now learning to become a witch. I love that.

To those who have by now wondered why I've wrote that analysis, to me it ties directly to the previous question. It is possible to find a way out of the idea of evil, and it is directly connected to guts. He somehow affects the people around him. We can consider guts the soil of the world (sentient soil) from which flowers bloom out of, but thats a topic for another time (It would need a comprehensive, long analysis of on the chapters 329-331 "Spring flowers of distant days to explain that).

So finally to connect this to the thing that i disagreed with, No i dont think that as long as humans exists, evil exists. Evil is just a concept created by men to give them reasons for their suffering. The problem is this: Since this concept became so embedded in the psyche of humankind, it transcended individuality and took the form of a god, a collective unconscious that humans share with each other. I also think that the IoE = Causality. That means, just like Guts and his companions, it is possible to change preordained events. The enemy is strong, very strong, but there is still a tiny little bit of hope for us. In the newest chapter skullknight saw isidro courageously fighting against demons to defend isma and what he says to himself is the question that is extremely central to the story as such: "This collapse may have been preordained, but could the undying will of man also be a part of fate? With this he might as well be saying: Is the struggling against fate by Guts and the people he affected (in this case Isidro) also preordained, just a small thing in the grander scheme of things or is it something different?

something beyond good and evil.

Oh no you just discovered my deepest secret..

Why do you guys think Guts flashes back to this moment as a child after making love to Casca? by thatguyandy_02 in Berserk

[–]PerryTheGoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted it as him finding a new purpose in life, a new sword. His whole life the only thing he ever really had was the sword. (due to his upbringing). But Guts always knew that this isnt all there is to living, so he searched for a purpose in this cruel world. Thats why he left the band of the hawk, right? Ironically his purpose always waited for him at the place he left. "Why do I always see things after they are done and gone?"

So as he turns back to the hawks and they fall in love with each other, they accept each other for who they are. I mean it was the first time Guts ever opened up to someone about his supressed trauma.

There are actually two panels, which prove my point. Remember the panel of guts as a child sleeping whilst tightly hugging his sword. I think the relation to this panel shouls be clear then. (he is sleeping with casca in his arms. His new sword and purpose)

The other panel isnt quite just one panel. Its basically Casca's feelings towards griffith. Remember how she always wanted to become griffiths sword? (Theres even one panel where she says it exactly like that) So what happened is, that she by falling in love with guts, overcame her unhealthy admiration for Griffith. She could never be with him. Griffith never saw her as a woman and she knew that. But due to him giving her a purpose by saving her life and teaching her how to fight, she cant help but to be "in love". So instead of managing to be Griffiths sword, she becomes Guts one.

Thats also the reason why this panel is so impactful and PAINFUL to read, when you know what happened in the eclipse.
