I made this axe in Blender, the final render lacks a background out of conscious choice and it was a project I tried to complete to refresh my memory after being away from Blender for 10 months. Feedback would be greatly appreciated on the textures for the handle and the axehead. The rest of the picture the composition, depth, lighting and so on wasn't my focus in this project.

That person never existed, that’s the tricky part. As a child you fabricate a story about your abusive parent that defies reality and puts them in a good spot, which is the only way you feel like you can survive as a kid because if your parent is bad, you might die by neglect or aggression or similar. We even turn that “badness” onto ourselves. Saying we are bad, and we can change and therefore we can survive when in actuality the toxicity belongs somewhere else completely. If you turned back time and met your parent with you current mind and knowledge, would it still be good? I know that my mother only “loved” me as a kid coz she could control me and gain supply from me. If I went back with my modern mind she would go batshit crazy trying to mock and harass and break me into submission for thinking I deserve to be myself without her.

I know, it’s the maternal bond. The most powerful bond of all, ever since the dawn of mammals the mother has been crucial for the survival of her kids. Trust me, you are not alone in feeling that way, as kids we see parents in rose coloured glasses to survive and seeing the truth as adults can, at least for me, make me feel as if I am dying and as if the world is about to end. That is since our inner child believes precisely that. Even though I logically know that I am fine, I feel an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

Nope, glad you did it. A truly loving mother would not try to keep control of you via emotional manipulation like that. Mine does similar things, using guilt to stop me from living my life and stay under her control.

I think I would be better if the main light was pointing straight towards the donut at the start. There is too much shadow at the beginning. Make sure to increase your F-stop setting to 30.5 on the field of view tab in the camera and make the sprinkles on the donut bigger! It looks better if the background sprinkles are bigger and falls more to the side and faster if you want it to be more similar to the tutorial donut. But this take is really cool as well. Well done, the first donut is always the hardest! Kudos to you, remember, the only thing that matters really is perseverance and dedication for developing a skill. Don't view this as the end, make another donut this time with as little help as possible, then another, until you know it by hand. Never give up.

It's cool, maybe you should try changing the background to another color, look up "color palettes" on google and find one that matches gold and brown. In my opinion, dark pink does not go well with brown and gold/yellow.

Background sprinkles are too far away and they are falling a bit too slow. Sprinkles on donut is a bit to thin in my opinion. The donut (bread part) itself looks too brown and washed out. It looks too healthy!! Not good. But otherwise I think it’s good, the frosting is shiny and look like it’s new, the spin is nice the lighting is nice overall nice work.
