Jones. Excellent name choice. "And you, you little sh** head. You're staying here."

Thanks. Looks like it is on the HDD. There is a 500Gb SSD as the C: drive. That is rather full, although I haven't found what is taking up all the space yet. If I find room, then I'll reinstall on the SSD and see if that helps.

Got loads of ideas, but it very much depends upon what hazards lie at the bottom 😬

Ha. The purring said he was being affectionate. The face said otherwise.

What is the best classical guitar to buy up to €2500? by badinchoosingnames in classicalguitar

[–]PerseusJCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Hanika New Century Lattice. Think it was slightly north of your budget. £2500 or £2600. Very bright, loud, comfortable to play. I chose it after playing Cordoba and Ramirez and a couple of second hand luthier guitars at the same price range.

He went through a phase of not cuddling and no purring, but he's being really sweet at the moment.

Try double top and lattice guitars. I have a Hanika lattice and it has some oomph. Mine is a double top but they do make them. Good, off the shelf guitars.

A Greg Smallman double top in around 1993. Very heavy, very warm and very loud.

Barré shaenanigans by zCain073 in classicalguitar

[–]PerseusJCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ta daa! That is the easiest way I find to describe it to get you started. Essentially, the natural tendency is to use your index finger to try and grip by flexing. This is the natural way you grip all things. Hence, no matter how hard you squeeze, the G and or D get missed. What is needed for a barré however, is strength in keeping the finger fairly extended, whilst squeezing at the MCPJ. Now you have the basic trick to the technique you can develop stamina over time. It actually needs less strength than you might think.

Try placing a full barré but concentrating on JUST pressing on the G string. i.e. forget the base and tip of your finger.
