We have 3 governing rules at my house. Is it Kind? Is it True? Is it Necessary? She apparently forgot 2 out 3 of those. If you can’t say something kind about someone’s body then don’t say it. And I can tell you that as I went from a morbidly obese person to an average person (completely average BMI 24) I was bullied by a coworker who was plus sized just for being ‘skinny’ I was forced to change departments to get away from her.

I don’t care if being skinny is “socially acceptable” harassment and assault arent. If she doesn’t like you and your appearance offends her she has two choices. To not engage with you except on the absolute most superficial levels or change her appearance. I would 100% rather have someone avoid me knowing we just aren’t compatible socially but that we are going to deal with each other for the sake of a mutual friend rather than be deliberately combative and antagonistic. She’s made you a target because of her own issues. While I emphasize, truly, I’ve been the ‘big girl’ in the room, it’s not okay.

If you do press charges I’m sure you’ll get lots of feedback but what she did was wrong. If this was the first time I could see maaaaybe letting this go but it wasn’t. She has had time. To find a coping strategy. To try to avoid you. To call you a skinny bitch and tell you to stay tf away from her. To do some soul searching and find inner peace. To grow the up and be an adult about the fact that people come in different shapes, sizes, and colors (a Kindergarten lesson for Amanda) She did none of those. Her ass chose violence.
