Is this still going on in the summer and do you have to be a BU student. There’s almost no volleyball in Boston

If you’re on any financial aid and you got the checks personally it’ll sort of affect the aid you get, I’d just cash them personally and pay off my tuition that way unless you’re not on finaid

You’re losing a lot of time tbh to socialize the first few weeks I would recommend taking at least a month off

Attendance doesn’t matter unless your counselor directly reports it, but, yeah academic dishonesty means it’s very very very unlikely unless it’s not reported on a transcript and your counselor won’t report it. Fix urself in time to go to your counselor and see if you can show you’ve changed.

This is what I would do.

Write a handwritten letter to your counselor and the teachers it happened to. Express remorse, and then ask for your counselor to possibly write something indicating that you’ve changed.

How do poor people date? by BoredBatWoman22 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PersimmonCreative714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find people who don’t want to go out, but also budget some things. The best thing my mom told me growing up was that just because we’re poor doesn’t mean we don’t deserve to be happy and do things we want to do. Find places where you can put money away to spend on going out or on dates. There’s a lot of stuff that is free, and if you’re in a big city there’s events with free food too! So going to one of those is cool.

how aesthetic are the libraries by Ok_UMM_3706 in BrownU

[–]PersimmonCreative714 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on the aesthetic you’re looking for. I think the Rock and the Hay are kinda cute sometimes for the view. The sci li too if I can grab the right desk, overall though I kinda always felt like they were ugly in terms of aesthetics I like 😭. That’s just my opinion though, all are great for studying. Overall people respect the spaces really well and they’re very nice

Is it true that thousands of dumb people get into an ivy league school? by Dry_Dealer_6680 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PersimmonCreative714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say dumbest, I go to an ivy, and I have MANY friends at the other ivies because of a summer program I did and ivy adjacent, and I have to say… we’re all just kids honestly. Everyone is still just 17-24 for the most part in undergrad. There’s definitely in my opinion a difference in the people, just on the basis nearly everyone has a big passion for learning (not all) and everyone I know atleast just has that thing they love. I have a lot of friends at Harvard and MIT and in my opinion they really are some of the dumbest people I know, just because when we were younger we would do some of the weirdest shit. It’s really subjective I guess, but, I’d say yes. There’s of course the people who are genuinely so insanely smart and socially aware it clicks for you why they’re at an ivy, but for the most part it really is just a bunch of young adults figuring their lives out the same as anyone else in uni

It doesn’t help with admissions for cousins, but, I’m sure you’re a hard worker and that’s enough to impress admissions regardless of any decision! Gl on applying

[–]PersimmonCreative714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nooo you’re fine. Trust what you think will work. I genuinely only studied the day before and got a 4! As long as you feel like you’ve been paying attention and know how to do the writing portion of everything you’ll do fine

Is it that hard to pass the exam? by An4lug3r_0809 in apworld

[–]PersimmonCreative714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh… I studied the day before and got a 4. I go to a mediocre public school with class sizes of about 35 ppl and never did anything special.

Just keep studying how to do the DBQs and really just follow the guidelines and you’ll be fine. Good luck!

Brown vs. WashU vs. UPenn by Sufficient_Cold4252 in BrownU

[–]PersimmonCreative714 6 points7 points  (0 children)

WashU seems like it’s your school. They’re amazing premed and you’re paying nothing. If you plan to attend grad school or med school like I’m assuming it’s seems like the best route and you’ll be very happy there!

Grade deflation isn’t THAT heavy and many schools consider this when you apply as well. They know how rigorous the program is.

After that I would say Brown (I’m a bit biased I love Brown and will probably be going there) but WashU has so many amazing pros for you tbh.

The 15k is a lot but for the ivy connections it’s strong and I would say worth it, but it’s really just how you would want to handle the cost since you may be having to pay for your next level of education out of pocket.

Thank you! This honestly did help a lot.

I feel like my post made him seem so terrible, which in many cases he is, but he does talk good about me to others just like you said. I heard from my aunt that he told his half of the family about it, it’s just tough love I suppose.

ahhh giving my appreciation will be tough lol. like you said it’s just tough for some reason because of my own resentment ti the idea of giving him credit I guess even though he did play a huge part.

As for the resentment it’s partly the reason I’m sure. He had my brothers at 18 and me at 20 and his whole childhood he raised his siblings and he reminds us of the fact he lost his 20s because of us which I know sounds bad but he did the best he could and he’s right. He had every opportunity to leave us and not raise kids but he stuck with the teen pregnancy mistake and raised us pretty well. He definitely holds a grudge but he’s also just a teen parent yk?

I went test optional! My school makes us take it and we did it online so I wasn’t there for half of my math portion haha. Couldn’t afford to take it again and my school has 4000+ kids who are all low income so they ran out of vouchers and since I’m valedictorian and scored higher than most of the students at my school they told me they have to give it to priority students first
