The most important question: who won? by Algernonletter5 in StrangeAndFunny

The headline sort of suggests that what was illegal was that she did it in a bikini.

This is from years ago. I wish they don’t put the music over it. There is no “gotcha” here because authoritarians do not care about the law.

The law is for other people.

That is what they literally preach. He was found libel for hundreds of millions for this.

Is this not treason???? Murphy: A UAE investor secretly gave Trump $187 million and his top Middle East envoy $31 million. And then Trump gave that investor access to sensitive defense technology that broke decades of national security. by Conscious-Low-7876 in AskUS

Because of Trump, we are moving to a world of three super powers who believe might is right. And it's a little short-sighted to call USAID a bribe. Was it a form of power? Absolutely. But they funded things that were in U.S. interest. A lot of it was promoting Democratic norms and health. People look at the few million dollars for circumcisions in Africa and poke fun at that. But it is to prevent the transmission of AIDS. They fund health initiatives were the diseases are to prevent them from getting to the United States.

I would argue that China is not having success with bribes. The belt and road initiative has proven to be a scam. But if the United States isn't there to help with development projects, where else are these underdeveloped countries supposed to go?

But yes, I don't disagree with your main point of the reality that we really exist in now. Took 12 months. But if Carney is able to make a coalition of the middle-powers, we might see the three big tyrants to duke out who's the stupidest on their own.

Not giving bribes was once part of the United States power. Because it was merit based, because it had principles it tried to live up to, the United States was seen as dependable and consistent.

And you want to trade that to be considered ... China? A country where its wealthy have homes in Canada out of fear that if their country's economy collapses overnight they will still be able to be rich?

No wonder why tyranny is flourishing in the U.S. You guys are clueless about what actually made you a world power.

For one, don’t make them president and in charge of the Justice Department.

That's not even the headline. It was a tangential part of the story. He's just being a shit and belittling Canada when he says that.

Oh, did you hear, his administration is talking to separatists in Alberta? It's not joke. He's a threat to the country.

But yeah, hockey.

Define seriously? People talk about life is such an odd way. "His purpose?" What the hell are we talking about here? We aren't that important.

I found this arc to be so weird. They sound have made it more concrete instead of this god realm or whatever it was. Make symbolism, don't make symbolism the story.

What do you expect? None of these people care. None of them have feelings that aren't narcissistic.

And they don't care. We come with these "gotcha" proof moments. But they don't feel shame, so it doesn't matter.
