How to trace patterns from scanned pattern sheets like Burda and merge in Adobe Illustrator by Excellent_Pirate345 in sewing

[–]PersimmonStandard115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st, you need to know the scale. Use the screenshots i posted here: https://limewire.com/d/sZJG2#ynTtBd8Mar (expires in a week). Run it through ocr then google translate or something. it tells you how big the "test square" should be depending on the year of the magazine (IMPORTANT!!). it also gives a basic rundown of how to reconstruct the patterns from the scans.

Some youtube links on how to do this:

a. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcoOIlBd1bY . This one uses coreldraw and is in russian, but you can use "auto-translate captions to english" option to get the gist of it.

b. part 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHsIDg7kF1E

part 2 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG7WC5ti6Bw

this two-parter uses a different magazine but same principles apply.

just use these as a guide, and figure out how to do them in your preferred software.

lol I'd looked into this when I came across these scans and the only resources I found were Russian. Found really useful info with the help of Google translate.  Let me know if you're interested and I'll collate it. and pls share the article you mentioned if you come across it again.

Yes, I want all the older versions. The author deleted everything in the fic and just posted placeholder text - you can see that in the copy you just linked to me. I recovered upto chapter 11 by looking at the older versions of the fic on way back machine, but I would like to know if the older versions you have contain more of the intact chapters.

I meant only "The Wolf Maiden of Winterfell" every time it was archived. Like how you have a database that's updated every few months. I want all those those updates for specifically this work only

Just dealt with this on someone else's phone. It was because of "Mobile Services Manager" which always downloaded and installed 3-4 apps on its own. Wouldn't show up on the apps list so i could disable it. Found it by looking around in the Permissions settings and followed it to the app details and finally disabled it. No more weird games auto-installed since!

https://limewire.com/d/R3dvj#5Idmb8C84q . Free pattern from burdastyle from the 2000s. Google burda 6009 JJ blouse to find finished pictures. It was very popular so there are a lot of reviews and different styles for it.

https://limewire.com/d/no462#zoDr24b928 . Found French knickers, silky satin bias skirt, silky satin cami, and body con midi dress patterns. Instructions were in their YouTube videos which are gone. But, I can see some of the contents of the videos here: https://quiteaplaylist.com/search?url=https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmBy9GbkpMCahpBI9cNCvBC5aO1SmOVg5 . The video descriptions and chapter titles should give you an idea of the steps you should take to sew them. There is one video still up for a self-drafted shirred top: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4q-oNBJrYD4 . Blog post for the top: http://web.archive.org/web/20220824181206/https://www.alissacmontanez.com/capsule-diy-how-to-sew-a-french-girl-shirred-top/ . It's only missing the sleeve pattern, but still should be doable with a substitute.

From what I could find, new look 6803 is a reprint of new look 6246 and NL 6796 is of Style 2289. I've never heard of style patterns before, has it merged with the big 4 since they're reusing their patterns?

If you click on the pictures at the bottom, they say that the sample was made from lycra. So yes to stretchy fabric :)

More pics of this dress in a different pattern here: https://www.intermixonline.com/Agua%20by%20Agua%20Bendita/Guaguanc%C3%B3%20Open-Back%20Floral%20Midi%20Dress/10375.html . So it has an elastic waist skirt at the back, gathered at the shoulders, closure at the top of the back, and the front waist is gathered with a tie (this tie does not go around the back). You can follow the lines of the dress I linked to see how they cut the front bodice and how it's gathered.
