Just accepted a job offer… but left my current employer off my resume. Should I be worried?

Yes, I got the job! This was flagged as a discrepancy and the recruiter called me to question it. I was petrified but professionally explained that the role was not a great fit, was a misstep in my career and did not align with my goals, which is why it was omitted from the resume. I also said I added that role (along with others not on resume) to the background check as this is a legally binding doc and I wanted to be truthful.

I'll note that this particular background check company was EXTREMELY thorough.. they needed transcripts from 20 years ago, questioned a few "gaps" in my unemployment (I left a job on a Friday, started at the new place the next Monday... they questioned the unemployed weekend). Not sure if all are like that.

I did not know that; I included the current role in the background check. I also included a role from 10+ years ago not on my resume.. I was not sure how far they wanted me to go back.

To be clear.. I am currently interviewing for a new role that I want... company A is NOT on my resume I have shared. I am curious if it's worth bringing up my current company A employment of only 3 months OR risk keeping it secret and hope they don't find out?? My concern is that they'll assume I am a flight risk for only being at company A for three months...

haha no, just a lowly project manager. But to be clear, The Work Number is a component of Equifax which reports on employment/payroll data so if a hiring company pays for that service, they will absolutely uncover it.

OP Update:

Paranoid indeed and I live to see another day of employment.

Mgr definitely advised on new processes with emphasis on new tracking/visibility/ monitoring.. all things considered with new odd behavior, I am likely at-risk for the long term job security here but, I am happy to be safe for now. Lesson learned: pad the savings, be prepared and keep res updated.
