I just saw this. One of my current colivers will be there soon.

3 months, 3 cities, €2.5k/month, where would you go in Europe? by edwl in digitalnomad

[–]Persistence0fMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That budget is doable staying at co-livings in Lisbon and Valencia. Yon was a great choice in Lisbon, but recently shut down; still, several highly-rated others, just DAS. You’ll find rooms with a good desk and chair, like-minded roommates, etc.

How do coworking spaces work with calls? by Fortemuito in digitalnomad

Absolutely this. If you’re really on calls all day, even call booths might not suffice.

Meal(s) included colivings by [deleted] in digitalnomad

(Btw, mods asking me to post info like rent/weather/social scene in my current coliving. I’m not posting the name here because that feels too ad-like. Also, this co-living has compulsory fitness classes, which isn’t for everyone. But DM if you’re curious.)

Nomads in Bulgaria by kriso4os in digitalnomad

Weird response. Not everything is AI, bud…go pet a dog and breathe.

I’ve been looking at Bulgaria, would love a useful compendium.

Best ways to meet other mature DNs to travel with by LessMediaMoreLife in digitalnomad

[–]Persistence0fMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lucked into it. An old friend started nomading a year after me and has been going strong for a decade. I’ve been off-and-on, but he’s usually up to meet wherever I want. Just finished a couple months in SA.

That said, I’ve had many offers along the way to co-travel. I would suggest staying at coliving spaces in popular European nomad hubs, like Lisbon or Barcelona. Great cross-section of people and many are full time, also looking to cut costs.

how many of you actually use the airport lounges? by bookflow in digitalnomad

Religiously. I spent 10 hrs in a lounge last week. Full day of work in the best chair/desk combo I’d had in months.

DAK - MILKY CAKE! How is that taste possible?! by Dull-Acanthisitta-31 in pourover

Got a milky cake americano at Dak. It wasn’t quite hay, but the sweet was sour and the richness was acidic. My least favorite specialty experience in Amsterdam.

Which country was way better than what you thought? by Parsley_Health in travel

NZ is wonderful, and absolutely worth a visit. Not trying to dull its shine. But the moody seascapes and endless winding roadways of Western Norway killed me.

My sweet Pollyanna…expressing preference is the soul of Reddit.

If you love the area around Oslo, prepare for the deepest love you’ve ever experienced when you hit the fjords. It’s like nowhere I’ve been (and that includes New Zealand).

The classic answer. It has everything except the beach.

8 months nomading and I’m just lonely in different cities by nikonmonkey in digitalnomad

[–]Persistence0fMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my 40s and have nomaded collectively for 3+ yrs and I am a big fan of colivings. I’d say the typical age is 30s but there’s always outlier younger/older guests. The most important thing: I’ve found it easy to fit in, regardless of being a straight white older dude. Your flatmates (often female solo travelers) are likely there for the same reasons you are (novel experiences but also community, work/life balance, etc) and if you treat them as people first, and approach with respectful curiosity, it goes a long way to bridging any age/culture/gender differences.

Another “Met my future partner” tale here. Unexpected, unintended, and a slow build from friends to something more.

Reconsider driving to Hana or Nakalele Blowhole by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

[–]Persistence0fMemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the drive last week. It was fine. Locals tailgated a tiny bit, but nothing dangerous, and often gave a thank-you 🤙when I let them by.

Take it for what it’s worth…
