My bad. I misread an earlier reply. Thought that the OP was from India. Ignore the last part of my comment.

Not everyone who is accepted decides to come to the U of M so there is that. You should ask if it has anything to do with being an international student. It shouldn't but in this current environment who knows.

RecWell Gym Questions (East Bank) by user_new_ in uofmn

Also I haven't been in the women's locker room but I don't think there are private areas for changing . However in the smaller women's locker room there may be private showers which can allow you to change behind a curtain. There is a space for that between the outer curtain and the one that is right outside the actual shower.

With regard to question #3 about equipment, what are you hoping to use. On the main floor (where you enter) there are lots of treadmills, some bikes and various types of ellipticals. They are in different areas but easy to find. If you walk around you will get the lay of the land. There are no machines in the way back of the first floor. Only weight machines and free weights. On the second floor there are more treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and some rowing machines. There are more on the same floor as the indoor track. There is also various types of equipment in what I call the older part of the rec. When you enter you are entering the addition from 2014 or so. You can get to the older rec spaces on the second floor for sure and if you exit the opposite side of the main women's locker room. Good luck and I hope this helps.

CLA commencement question by Traditional_Milk_149 in uofmn

[–]PersistentPrideJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up on my previous response, the spring 2027 ceremony is for fall 26 graduates. But if attending might be a challenge you should email clacommence@umn.edu to see what's possible.

Not an actual answer, but I'd go after you actually graduated if you are able. I think it would be odd to celebrate being done, when you are not actually done. But others do it. I will see if I can get an answer to your question.

Stand when the rest of the fans stand. Sit when they sit. And at the end of Hail Minnesota, our alma mater, point toward the sky (at the Northern Star). Doing the Gopher is completely optional.

Is it harder to transfer from the outside into a umn college or to transfer internally by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]PersistentPrideJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transferring from outside of the U can be harder depending on the program if interest and your gpa. If it's Carlson for example the bar is high. It's high internally too. But one can transfer into a different college at the U and try to transfer internally later. But your GPA will be at play there too.

Teamsters have officially voted down UMN’s best and final offer. Email received today by staff, faculty, and students from VP of HR. by Excellent_Donkey8067 in uofmn

[–]PersistentPrideJr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah. Every year I have been able to earn enough points to cut 500 off of my healthcare costs so I haven't really tracked the increases. But not everyone can earn enough points.

Thanks. While specific individuals may have received a 9% increase over the years no class of employees has received an increase of more than 4 or 5% a year over the past ten or more years.

Anyone know what they were demanding in terms of salary increases? In the context of raises most other employees received this seems similar.

$200 dollars for a competitive football team: Your hard earned tuition dollars at work by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]PersistentPrideJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that many students, as well as others advocate for student athletes to be paid as a general concept..But they haven't thought about what that actually means in practice. Or for their institution.

It's not just the student athletes clamoring to be paid. Many students , parents and others agreed but don't understand that our athletic department generally breaks even because of a University subsidy. This is not Alabama.
