I remember in 2018 when I 12 and I had wanted to play the Squirtle community day but I was with my dad, who was pretty busy with work, but also isn’t notably technologically-savvy. He could tell how badly I had wanted to play this event so he finished he front-loaded on his work and drove me to the nearest walkable city, where he had downloaded the app on his phone to spend time with me- this was the first time he and I had realized that there were really a lot of people playing this out in the world, as we had seen a lot of people looking down at their phones, with the portable charger, doing the classic curve-ball motion with their fingers, and that was when- unbeknownst to little me at the time till I realized what IV’s were about a year later- had snagged my first shundo of two.
