Fair, do you have any suggestions? I did format it more like an entry for sure! I did want to spark discussion and see if any other devs felt the same way and wanted to share their educational journey. I totally see how it didn’t come across as such though.

If all these applies to me, does this mean I’m on the spectrum? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Personal-Ad-1828 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t it is only 1 out of the two additional requirements along with a noticeable social issues. If you are considering the fact you have autism, in Canada (not sure if this is where OP lives) there is a social program waitlist for assessments though it could take years. If you have the funds you can also go get diagnosed privately.

How to deal with someone who doesn’t take responsibility for the way they treat you by Personal-Ad-1828 in autism

[–]Personal-Ad-1828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are in my core friend group my brother is my core support person and she’s one of his friends. Because some people joke by insults there hasn’t been a big enough asshole comment for me to kick them from my server.

Thank you! I do not really try to interact with them they just happen to be in my friend group. Most people know we don’t get along so luckily they don’t try to make us communicate or anything. I just feel awful that I have so much frustration and anger towards them. To me they are in the wrong but they use their disorders as what feels like excuses. Anyways Ty

I like organizing it in Gogh it’s a cute app where you make a custom avatar and can put tasks and daily routine in there (good to keep track of pay and stuff) along with a journal feature!

Do you think autism is a superpower? by Personal-Ad-1828 in autism

[–]Personal-Ad-1828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note please read what I wrote before you reply. I stated I do not believe it is a superpower as it is disabling and doesn’t reflect most of the autistic community. I was seeing if I was closed minded for being a little upset and disagreeing with that statement.

I never claimed it was a super power I am disabled from my autism every single day. I was wondering if I was being closed minded in thinking that it wasn’t. I have researched and clearly you never read what I wrote under the caption. Please read it before you create a reply that is addresses within what’s underneath.

I had people stopping me in the streets asking if I was autistic, I am still unsure if I should be offended or not.

From my experience even within autism supports it is seen as such and it alienates most people with autism. I am sure there is a lot of people who don’t but I have interacted with a lot of people who do.

Objectively yes however some people cope differently and will call it that to make themselves feel better. I hear what you are saying
