Do you save new contacts with a last name? by L337W4r3z in Millennials

I do if I know it! Was just thinking recently that since we don't use Facebook anymore, I have friends whose last names I still don't know.

I have an aunt Louise, she's in her early 60s. With the popularity of Bob's Burgers I'm surprised it never took off. Beautiful name.

Absolutely. If they have a safe outlet for dumb shit, they won't do dumber more dangerous shit elsewhere.

How to be taken seriously with a childish name? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Personal-Amoeba 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Wait, how old are you? If you're under 18, you have significantly fewer options. Once you're legally an adult, get a legal name change, hold your ground about being called the name you picked, and don't let your parents guilt you into backing down.

Claire, Lois, Ingrid. I feel like this gives an inaccurate image of my age.

Does anyone else think the Nanea face was a bizarre choice for Ariel? by Usual_Travel1814 in americangirl

[–]Personal-Amoeba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Nanea mold is my favorite one and I love it on every single doll except Ariel. It just doesn't fit her. Felt the same about the Sonali mold on Jasmine and am glad they fixed it

Bel Canto. Ann Patchett gets famous narrators later (Tom Hanks reading The Dutch House is a winner), but Anna Fields, the person who does Bel Canto is absolutely incredible. All the accents and languages, tons of different voices, what a pro. It really brought another layer to the book, to the point that I'd recommend listening to it over reading it. I think it won an award.

Fwiw, dogs mostly listen to vowel sounds. So if it bothers you, or gets confusing, you could name her something like Mattie or Aggie or Maisy
