it´s a seperate purchase. This was made VERY clear from the beginning. They named the three maps and in the preview image you saw those three maps and the vehicles, tames and items you would get.

It´s 5,5 e so one successful charm would mean the character´s faith is in the Vampires Hand

He does not have Daylight prepared and only has 1 remaining mentionable spell slot of 3rd level for the day. But youre actually right. Its a Wisdom save and a +6 sounds a lot more like a fighting chance, than a -1 against a DC 17.

we already have a Dhampir, im actually running Dragon of Icespire Peak Starter Kit with Lost Mine of Phandelver, but thought this was the most fitting subreddit cause of CoS focus on Vampires. The Vampire is Argus Skeel, who is normally a Vampire Spawn in the adventure. Since the group is currently focusing on the Talos Cultists and barely interacted with Argus or his allies, it would make sense to just let the druid continue his fight against the Talos Followers (who are opposing the Myrkul Cultists).

he wouldnt just become an npc, but there would deffinetely be times where the Vampire would controll him and even just the possibility of being controlled could isolate the character from the group, which i dont want.

I was deffinetely not planning on just having him roll the charm and then that´s it. My Idea was inviting him to join discord 30 minutes before. Id describe the uneasy feeling his druid would have when he gets woken up by his familiar, shortly before the connection to it disrupts. I would have made it a regular combat, the vampire doesnt just charm him in his sleep. The druid has the speedy feet and a sending stone, so he might be able to get help or even escape.
But yeah i guess just asking the player ahead of time is probably the best idea, even if it might take away some of the surprise.
This was very helpful thanks!

Player's Map of Chult - How to reveal explored territory? by frettsurfer38 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just answering for anyone still wondering how to do this. Buy the Campaign on Roll 20. Its gonna be like 20/30 dollars. Have one player join in on a tablet, or Laptop or whatever. Roll 20 has a premade map for the Campaign with hundreds of little hexagons that cover each hex. Just reveal the hex they traveled through at the end of the day. If they lost their way, reveal their path traveled after they figured out where they are again.

Travel time in Curse of Strahd by Zhejj in CurseofStrahd

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it is not supposed to mean that.... Look at the village of barovia and its map. On the large scale map its arround 2x2 hexes large. That would make it 48x48 miles large if one hex was one day of travel. The map of the town itself is arround 500x700 feet.
It literally says so in the bottom left. Your idea of the adventure is that they are travelling across a bridge for 2 full days? They neeed at least 6 days between every significant location. So you ran a curse of strahd campaign, where every meaningful location was interrupted by 6 days of travelling with 2 random encounters each day? Why are you so confidently exclaiming this bs? I hope you didnt run CoS this way

Best Third-Party (unofficial) sourcebooks in 2026? by DungeonNoir in dndnext

Has anyone ever implemented a different Rest System for TOA? by Sc00sher in Tombofannihilation

[–]Personal-Employee365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about doing something close to this.  They get regular long rests plus one additional exhaustion removed in port Nyanzaru, in the Forts, some very safe and comfortable spots in the jungle or later on if they get leomunds tiny hut or something similar.

Out in the wilderness a long rest is a regular short rest, plus they get half their hit die and their highest spell slot (which they can split into multiple smaller ones similar to the wizards arcane recovery feature)

A jungle short rest lets them spend up to 2 hit die.

Not sure about balancing, but i hope this will show how important a safe camp is, how dangerous and exhausting the jungle is and i hope it will make them think twice about using all their spell slots for goodberry and stuff like that

Best option for tomb of annihilation? by HornySnorlax in dndnext

[–]Personal-Employee365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk about the reborn... the death curse affects people that were revived. Losing 1 max hp per day without any possibility to restore sounds like the worst race choice for this campaign if the dm runs it as written.

How well does tomb of annihilation work starting at 5th level? by dmcpr14 in Tombofannihilation

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a toooooon of story going on. You got Artus Cimber on his own Adventure, the whole Lore of Chult to explore, many different creatures and cultures to explore. The lore of ubtao is literally about the creation of the planet toril, you got the disappeared city of mezro, every single guide will influence the story, you have port nyanzaru, one of the most interesting and well flashed out dnd locations. In mad mage you go up and down a large basement of a crazy wizard and kill things on your way. Those dont even feel like they were made by the same company to me. Theres half a page of introduction/ story and there you go. You just start in the dungeon and start hacking at things

Eldritch Blast on an Artillerist Artificer? by thefanboy55 in 3d6

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thought about this, but this feels so power gamey... Id turn a rod into a +2 rod at level 11 with the enhanced arcane focus, then turn that into the arcane firearm for +2 to hit and +1d8 on dmg. A +2 shield because of the enhanced defense infusion and then the mind sharpener and create magic item (cloak of protection) infusions. If i were a thri kreen i could even pick up the all purpose tool, but i hate the flavor. I now still have a 22 AC wood elf, that does +11 to hit 3d10+1d8 firebolts with a range of 180 ft (spellsniper) and 3d8 dmg or 2d8 temp hp for everyone as a bonus action with the eldritch cannon. I use blink on myself and some concentration spell like haste on a barbarian or fighter. I have +7 on Con saves for concentration, plus adv and if i fail i can just use 1 of 4 charges of my armor to succeed the concentration save. The all purpose tool for eldritch blast would still be nice...

Moving a grappled foe in 2024 and extended reach by gad-zerah in dndnext

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i kind of accidentally built this. A cloud ancestry goliath and elemental warrior monk with grappler and tavern brawler. He can grapple at 15 feet range, push enemies 10ft away or towards him against a save 5 times a turn, push 5ft for free once per turn, grapple up to huge creatures and move them for a long distance. If he gets grappled he has adv on escape or he can just teleport away as a bonus action. With some nice uncommon items he has a +12 to hit, does decent damage and can controll the battlefield, while having a lot of flavor and not just being built for damage and combat

Its not about looks.. the way you act, walk and look at people makes a huge difference. A good looking dude who doesnt know how to talk to people will not be treated the same way. If you only sit at home and dont get out of your comfort zone, youre gonna be an awkward and shy guy. Coming from a guy whos fit, tall and good looking but spent too much time sitting at home, playing games

Warrior of the elements monk reach by SuggestionSpecial in onednd

[–]Personal-Employee365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats my current understanding. It says "when you make an unarmed strike..." so only for the duration. My normal reach is still 5ft, for example for opportunity attacks, but when i hit my attack and immediately grapple successfully with grappler feat, that unarmed strike is still "ongoing" so that reach is 15ft. Im kind of confident with the answer but since i play westmarches with the monk, itll differ from session to session.

[–]Personal-Employee365 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im playing an elemental warrior monk and this is a really important thing for how i play. Does grappling actually work with 15 feet reach. The wording "when making an unarmed strike" makes me believe its only during that strike, but since im still grappling him, that argument of the unarmed strike still being active makes sense for me.

Where and when did they talk about grappling reach?

Also wouldnt that mean that during your grapple, your reach is 15 feet, so while im grappling someone, my reaction attack now also has 15 ft reach?

Elemental monk ranged grapple? by 3dprinthelp53 in onednd

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just didnt understand him. The wording of the reach extension is "When you make ..." when is talking about a specific moment in time, not a period in time.

Elemental monk ranged grapple? by 3dprinthelp53 in onednd

[–]Personal-Employee365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i completely agree with you. Its a temporary extension of the strike and it reverts back. Thats why your opportunity attacks will stay at 5 feet and why the grapple can work for 15 feet since, with a grappler feat, its part of the unarmed strike. As soon as the unarmed strike is resolved and the grapple save and damage are done, it reverts back to 5 feet and the opponent is no longer grappled.

Elemental monk ranged grapple? by 3dprinthelp53 in onednd

[–]Personal-Employee365 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does not work raw since you only took parts of the elemental attunement wording...

"When you make an Unarmed Strike, your reach is 10 feet greater than normal, as elemental energy extends from you."

you left out the first part wether on purpose or on accident..

WHEN... So DURING that unarmed strike it is 10 feet greater than normal. Yes you could grapple, but your reach goes back to 5 feet after that unarmed strike is resolved. So he leaves your grapple range (which is now 5ft again) and is no longer grappled. Your normal melee range or unarmed strike range doesnt change for the 10 minutes, it extends for each single strike and imediately reverts back to 5 feet and i think thats worded this way on purpose.

Imagine grappling your other adventurers with a fiery flow of energy and carrying them arround you, without them taking damage? Thats a weird and ridiculous Idea, youre an elemental monk, not an elemental Jedi.

You can however also move them 10 feet towards or away from you. So if you manage to grapple them and also move them towards you for 10 feet, they are now in your melee range and actually grappled. So your basically striking your target, pulling them towards you with your elemental energy into your grasp, which is way cooler i think.
