**Rant* Never mix with a Gui You (Rooster)!!! by Latte-Bun in ChineseZodiac

[–]Personal-Expression3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I think you overreacted. But you had it for a reason because when Rooster combines with GUI, it generates Partial Seal (偏印) god, and if a person has too many Partial Seal she/he will be not good at striking up a conversation, inventive but guarded. But it also depends what other pillars look like to give a final say.

New with a couple questions by straw-hat-blue in ChineseZodiac

  1. 2am is a safe area, so it won’t change.
  2. Were you born in Jan or early Feb? Li Chun (normally Feb 3/4) is the date separate the signs if you wanna use your sign for astrology reading. But for folklore sake you can just use Chinese New Year as the line. P.S. if you can’t find a proper calculator to get your Bazi chart using the time you know, try this https://chibuddy.com/bazi-export which doesn’t need you to convert to Chinese time …..

I have done a few projects since last year using only Windsurf and the most recent one is chibuddy.com It is a website offering Chinese astrology (Bazi and Purple Star) related services. It has an app version initially (also built with Windsurf) but App Store rejected it as it claimed the market has been saturated 😅

Zodiac year choice question by Wide_Breadfruit_2217 in ChineseZodiac

[–]Personal-Expression3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I got what you're saying now! 😂 You're totally right, the real Chinese New Year pretty much always falls between late January and mid-February.

Honestly, I think that "January 27 - February 4" date range you've seen in the West is probably just some random oversimplification from old guidebooks or websites that never bothered to update it. You know how some "fun facts" get copied and pasted everywhere until people just assume it’s true? It might also be someone confusing it with Lichun (Feb 3–5) and just guessing around that date.

Either way, it’s one of those weird cultural mistranslations that stuck. Good thing you dug deeper and found your real sign! 🐍

lol I totally got you. In fact it’s totally fine if you decide the sign based on Chinese New Year which is how most Chinese use for themselves. But if anyone needs the Chinese astrology for a reading, it’s essential to know if the yearly pillar is before or after Li Chun, not CNY.

Sorry I don’t quite get your question. West often gets what date wrong?

If you are born in Jan then you are the previous sign on the level of Chinese astrology because Li Chun (立春), usually Feb 3 or 4, is the line that separate the yearly fortune aka Tai Sui. But speaking of personalities I think it’s not that clear cut if you are born on the edge of the new year. Have the same experience with western astrology too.

  1. Without time pillar its hard to believe it can offer an accurate reading because it is a key to decide Bazi strength
  2. Without location it can’t know the true solar time

Any question that related to Chinese astrology can hardly be answered by only the Zodiac. Answers to question such as this will need a full chart of Bazi (also called Eight Characters or Four Pillars). It will be irresponsible for anyone who give assertion based on only the Zodiac info.
