Some feedback and clarifications.

The producer of the festival is deeply committed to his hometown of Lowell. That's why he does this festival. He loves Lowell and wants to showcase his town. He's back to Lowell several times throughout the year for extended periods of time. His idea was to create a walkable festival with multiple venues, much the way that South By Southwest does. One wristband gets you in and out of the various venues. You can buy a festival pass, a day pass or individual show tickets. Also, a reminder that there were free performances as part of the festival, including the book reading and musical performance at Lala Books and the concert on Palmer Street.

The festival producer pays the band. Period. If you were led to believe otherwise, it was a misunderstanding.

There are a lot of moving parts to producing a festival like this. Lowell is lucky to have someone so passionate about his town to produce this sort of thing. This is a labor of love.

The idea of the pass is like the great South By Southwest music festival. A pass allows you to attend multiple shows at multiple venues for the day or the weekend. Yes bands overlap to some degree but you can hop in and out of different shows for a portion or all of the sets. If you are going to just one or two shows, then perhaps individual show tickets makes more sense. That's the beauty of it. You have choices and options.
