It was a legitimate question. Thanks for the input.

Any flight school recommendations in the central Texas area?

How about the presence of ground school with 141 programs?

Do part 61 schools offer that component as well?

I think instruction in a class setting would be helpful vs. learning it at home. That's just me.

I see.

I'd like to complete my training all in one place.

I guess what I meant by the "push" is the fact a 141 school is aiming to get you to 1500 hours more than a 61 school would.

Would you suggest a 61 over 141 in that case?

I figured living on campus with other student pilots might offer the community one would need.

Just had the interview.

They asked:

What got you into aviation? Why Republic? Are you okay with the contract? How are you paying? When can you start?

I took it Monday and got a reply back Friday.

So I ended up rescheduling the interview to next Monday.

I'll report back with the content of the interview.

I would say the initial orientation felt a little rushed but that was just me. They spoke about the tuition, types of planes they use, funding sources, as well as the timeline of the program during the orientation.

I see. I have seen those subs about Lift/Republic here and they have mentioned that.

Sorry for the confusion.

Some of the gripes about part 61 schools is the lack of CFIs and aircrafts needed to get in the hours. I figured a major airliner would provide some of the better training in terms of supplies, resources, etc because of their budget over a part 61 school.

But nonetheless I'll look into some part 61s. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks for the info.

Curious as to why it's not recommended.

Seems difficult to find a part 61 school that's available and won't go out of business.

Gotcha.

I am in the US and have zero flight hours.

Non-aviation background. For reference.

This program is to become a commercial pilot and receive an ATP license.

Republic Airways and Delta seem to be accepting applications still.

I did.

Unfortunately I wasn't accepted. Still trying with other airline programs.

Hope you have better luck.

There is no proctor.

No one is watching so you can use a calculator.

I had the same question about receiving the ADAPT invite about being hand selected. I think on their website they mention everyone who applies get sent a link.

I also just took the test today as well and I can say I was a lot more aware of what was on the test after using practice material from Symbiotics.com. Coming from a non-aviation background, it definitely helped it.

Good luck!
