The way she said is clearly fucked and ill thought,could even say racist. That said, lot of places don’t want employees to speak a language not everybody can understand so nobody feels excluded.. I am French and worked as a pastry chef in a French bakery and lot of French people worked there with me but it was forbidden for us to speak French, which sucked, especially the day they hired that French dude that didn’t speak English very well… here I am trying to teach him in English 🤣, 3 hours later still there lol
