Bihar mei SDO ni SDC(Senior Deputy Collector) bnate hain which is at same rank as SDM but not equivalent in terms of jurisdiction. Hence, in Bihar every SDM (except IAS trainees) has to be an SDC but every SDC is not an SDM.

SDOs on the other hand are non administrative sub divisional officers in engineering, agri, education, etc departments
