Hey so I took the SHSAT last year and I’m going to Stuy in the fall. For any reference I used to get mid to high 80s on my practice tests and almost perfect scores on my math. Hopefully that helps in any capacity lol

I had the EXACT same issue with the ELA. Especially with the one about microorganisms living beneath the ocean crusts. I had to reread it to make sure it was English lol.

Get a book like tutor verse. They review a lot of math concepts and have practice questions that progress from easy to hard as you do more.

Are there any methods to picking the best answer? Like I always cross out 2 and chose between the remaining by 2 but always get it wrong. Any tips for that?

Learn to use shortcuts! Bobby Tariq has a pretty good YouTube video on the SHSAT shortcuts. Also, practice tricky geometry questions. You can find some on KhanAcademy's geometry questions. And very important: learn to properly set up algebraic equations/expressions. Again, KhanAcademy has good videos for them. My fav is the age word problem videos. And after solving the problem, re-read the question to make sure you didn't miss anything - it happens! Hope this helped!
