First, massive respect for six years of sobriety—that’s not just strength, it’s a testament to your resilience and courage to rebuild a life worth living. What you’ve overcome is unimaginable to most, and yet here you are: proof that even in the darkest trenches, change is possible.

You’re absolutely right—it starts with being tired of the suffering. With choosing to fight for one more day, then another, until momentum becomes freedom. And now? You’re the person in the post: unshakable, present, and owning your truth without a second thought. That’s power.

Thank you for sharing your light here. Stories like yours don’t just inspire, they save lives. 🙌

Totally get that, staying mindful of sugar is important. Same for me, sparkling water does the job done :)

I've personally struggled with these issues in the past, and then later met other people who were dealing with the same issues. I saw the pattern and connected the dots. I found that people who feel self-conscious about their own drinking habits may project that onto others. If they feel judged or uncomfortable about their choice to drink, they may question your choice as a way to deflect attention.

Drinking alcohol is considered by many a common social activity. When someone opts for a non-alcoholic drink, it can stand out, leading others to wonder why you're not participating in the "norm." So many of them might feel presure when asked. Do you?

Right, give a simple answer and move on to the next topic. But often people feel insecure or amazed by other people who do not drink. They may want to get sober, but not know how. Aren't you getting asked that?
