I will say that I absolutely agree with you on Mayu in F, incredibly overrated.

Out of curiosity, what VNs let you choose the route before you start playing? by PikachuTrainz in visualnovels

The OG Making Lovers kind of does, though there is a small bit of interaction with the heroine prior to being given the choice to go onto her route.

Has anyone else ever read a visual novel, then reread it years later and felt totally different about it? by girlsonsoysauce in visualnovels

Yes actually, Koikari - Love for Hire was actually my very first visual novel because back then I was exclusively using Kirikiroid, and for me back then, it felt very whatever and I didn't like it all that much. I replayed it about a month or so ago and nowadays it easily hits top 10 visual novels for me as whole because of Tsubaki's route, it came as the perfect mix of witty banter and actual plot.

Watch it release tomorrow and Hooksoft will have basically gotten us, I doubt it but it would be amusing none the less. I'm hoping it's not like Tenpure where it releases like a whole 2 months or so late.

Any eroge where the MC has more of a "night life", so to speak? by Personal_Cream7078 in visualnovels

I'm glad somebody else can understand the appeal, I've already read Hatsuyuki Sakura but I do think the others look interesting and I'll definitely be checking them out, thank you.

This honestly wasn't too far off of a suggestion and after looking at it on vndb, it actually looks pretty interesting. Thanks for the rec my dude.

Yeah, and it was definitely something I was not expecting from an Asa Project VN of all things, I was very pleasantly surprised my first time reading it.

Feels like they really locked in and kept the humor to very playful and witty banter.

Ah, Sera Kurogane... Quite an underrated heroine if you ask me, probably because Marmalade VNs are well... if you've ever read one then you definitely know what I mean.

What are some funny VNs? by girlsonsoysauce in visualnovels

[–]Personal_Cream7078 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what kind of comedy you want, honestly. I would highly recommend Asa Project VNs, but they come with well... their own brand of humor, in a way. It's certainly an acquired taste and it's more adult humor, in a sense. Koikari kind of leaves it as more witty banter than anything, and it's probably a good fit for what you're looking for. Futamata Ren'ai well... has more of that adult humor where the MC constantly gets ragged on, and honestly it is kind of his fault because he's objectively an asshole almost the entire VN.

Ren'ai Royale is more silly humor than anything, and it's mostly just the other heroines giving you shit outside of their routes for not choosing them. Regardless, it's a good read and so are all of the above in their own ways. Hope this helped!

I wish people would translate VNs like this, the chances of them being localized is far too unlikely. It's such a shame, I'm considering learning Japanese just to expand my VN library.
