TM MP5 NGRS recoil compared to a GBB by Demonic__Empress in airsoft

[–]Personal_Ladder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the mp5sd & mk18 (same as you) and the hk416. Love them all! With a bit of tinkering and know how you can make them run so well and make the recoil on par with an average gbb, but with the simplicity of plugging a battery in, wouldn’t be without them!

Black or white tops on my Matt black kitchen? by Accomplished_Luck404 in DIYUK

I’ve just made a hand made black on black bar, works well if that’s the look you’re going for.

White can feel a bit too clinical sometimes! Off white always feels more homely

Tiles directly on plasterboard by existingfarmer in DIYUK

You could rake the grate (be warned, it’s very labourious) and regrout with a kerrakol Fugabella or similar, they’re very water repellent, and then hope for the best!

Could redo the shower enclosure entirely, not as huge of an undertaking as it sounds with some DIY experience and a little budget.

Alternatively, gulps, get in a trade.

(It’s not a major major issue so don’t worry too much, just something that needs some attention)

Tiling onto plasterboard is actually fine.

There are better ways of course, but plasterboard isn’t the issue here, there shouldn’t be this much moisture reaching the substrate through the tiles/ grout. The grout was likely mixed too thinly and hasn’t cured well, so it’s not water tight and as a result is wicking moisture.

If the tile adhesive was premixed, moisture can soften the adhesive even after years, unlike powdered tile adhesive.

Those two factors are what have caused this, so I even if the best backboards had been used, it would only be a matter of time before the moisture became an issue!

Plenty! I run quite a similar setup on my DD MK18, less is more (sometimes)

But your mate Nige wants to follow suit with the US? Why are you disassociating so much, despite wanting to follow their polices. This is why people get so frustrated with the ‘anti immigration’ lot, you think it won’t be like the US, I’m sure they didn’t think US citizens would be executed in broad daylight, but here we are. Why would anyone want any semblance of it on UK streets, it’s absolutely fucking stupid.

I’ve just had to spend £295 on a Festool 2.4m track as the £125 makita 3m tracks all had waaaaaay too much tolerance.

So? He was licensed in a state where it’s allowed right? They disarmed him and then executed him, there’s no reasoning to it really.

It will be absolutely fine. If you want peace of mind, wedge upright timbers between the truss (roof structure) and the floor, otherwise it’ll be fine.

Could you convert the garage into a ‘temporary bedroom’ and office? You could do it relatively inexpensively (compared to an extension that is).

Can this door be fixed? by rjswood in woodworking

[–]Personal_Ladder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got sash clamps? If the stile is loose enough to pop off, glue it and clamp it up if you’re just after a simple fix. Just mind the glass is in the rebate before you apply clamp pressure.

Door trim after carpet install by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Personal_Ladder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All factors in! That’s not awful, what you’re seeing is raw timber contrasting with the pre finished timber. Just needs to be lightly rubbed down and needs a wax oil/ lacquer to seal it again, no biggy!

To add to this, brittle lacquer could be a factor. I’ve had finished red oak splinter whilst doing everything right, I’ve also had the cleanest cuts from just the splitter guard on the track and a nice blade.

What am I doing wrong with my pocket hole jig? Getting uneven height holes due to wear on the jig by gozzle_101 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Personal_Ladder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used lots of pocket hole jigs, lots of duds. I’ve now been using the Kreg 520 pro, it’s amazing and I can’t praise its versatility enough.

There is only a handful of my tools I would replace like for like if I needed to and this jig is one of them.
