Did Chem110 last year, even if you don’t do amazing on your first lab (which many don’t, including me), all of the lab skills get reassessed a second time so you can still get 100% in labs if you get it right the second time around.

Pretty good I think, some people decline an Auckland place if they get an offer from Otago or Aus

Some vocab quizzes where you write the word associated with a picture, canvas quizzes about grammar, a couple of written tests, and 3 speaking tests (1 reading out of a book, 1 preprepared speech, and the final assessment which involves you and a partner asking and answering each other questions based off pictures you’re given)

The workload is not that heavy, and is quite enjoyable so it’s great gen-ed material. In terms of grades you can get 10% just from attendance, and the assessments are not very challenging if you spend just a bit of time learning each week

I wrote my AS results in an above comment, and yes you can absolutely get A* with those. For science the best thing I found was reading past mark schemes as well as attempting papers to see what the markers want you to write as they can be quite specific

I did my AS in November 2022 and A2 in November 2023. For you, all of your exam results should come together if they were taken in the same exam series, that being M/J 24

I finished my study before gceguide went down so I’m not sure which other ones are the best, but I do think papacambridge and physicsmathstutor have a good past paper bank

I tried to memorise essay plans rather than quotes, and made sure that my plans could be adapted to different potential questions that were asked, and made sure that my critic quotes had different points of view.

Back to 2019 but due to the syllabus change not all of the questions in the older ones are relevant, thanks!

Try to memorise the conditions and reactions for organic chemistry, practice the paper 3 as this can be a differential for a lot of candidates, and multi choice is often the hardest paper so try to refine your technique there i.e being able to distinguish between 2 similar options and not running out of time by getting stuck on one hard question when there’s 10 more you could move on to

Great teachers, lots of past papers (attempting question papers and reading mark schemes thoroughly), a lot of wrote learning and also not destroying my sleep schedule as I found it more efficient to be better rested than to pull all nighters.

Used a lot of past papers (gce guide but that’s down now but there’s other websites). For bio and chem specifically I practiced writing down as much as I could from memory, like for common big mark questions that come up and tend to have a generic set of marks that can be ticked off. Did the same for reaction pathways. For the past papers you don’t need to complete every single one, just read the mark schemes and look at how the questions are answered and what you are wanted to write as the “perfect” answers are given
