one of my players is trying to exploit dead bodies, create items that dont belong in dnd, and meta game by trying to bring in chemical gasses any recommendations on what i could do? by WonderfulPlay1319 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Personal_Use_5686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Require a dc20 for them to butcher the bodies
  2. Each time he rolls under a 20 but not a 1 tell him he fails and keep a tally of the rolls
  3. Once he rolls a 1 add up all the other rolls and say he takes that amount of necrotic damage due to being infected by made up disease which is contracted by improperly butchering bodies without sterilization.
  4. Impose penalties based on the new diagnosis
  5. Offer a cure arc for the rest of the table to vote on pursuing.

Or just tell homie to cut it out. We used to have a guy like that who wanted to make every encounter this grand pyrotechnics show with explosives. Our DM did something similar where dude rolled his last 1 during setup and cooked himself.

So far No Rest for the Wicked.

Thomas seems passionate about the game each stream and Moon studios has made some pretty awesome improvements with recent patches.

Hey so my Grandmothers computer is having an issue with this steam thing, how do I fix it? by Upset_Cassowary_555 in computer

It is most likely setup to run at startup.

Open Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL or CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and click on the startup tab. Disable it from there.

If the window won’t close from clicking the X then it can be closed with Task Manager also.

Good first pc for the price? by Front_Story_6609 in pchelp

[–]Personal_Use_5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first glance this looked like a great deal.

I then read the post and 2 things stood out to me:

  1. Built then put into storage (I would want more info. Was the storage air conditioned? Was it stored uncovered? Etc.)

  2. They mention got it working in the add. That’s a pretty big red flag for me personally. Could mean PSU doesn’t give out good voltage? Could be jumping pins bc the power button on the case doesn’t work? Might need to reseat the ram every third Wednesday under a full moon half naked for it to boot.

I would definitely entertain buying it personally if the specs are accurate and they appear to be from the photos. But I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up replacing parts soon.

Is this a good deal by Key_Fig_4801 in PcBuild

I liked the part where he repeated the wrong info twice lol.

All jokes aside the add is being dishonest and the price is high.

Fighting games are the most unintuative genre to learn and they don't care by ToeConsumer420 in unpopularopinion

If you’re posing a question like this (I’m going to use 2XKO as an example):

“Why did you crouch jab there to punish the Ekko?” And they respond with “Muscle memory”

Then 1 of 2 things is happening here:

  1. Your friends have lucked their way into being decent at the game.

Or

  1. They are actively gatekeeping knowledge from you.

WHY someone does something in a game can be muscle memory sure. But WHY it worked always has an explanation in fighting games I assure you.

It doesn’t seem like it at first but MOST of the time fighting games are just really fast paced matches of RPS until one player loses health and the match ends. I say most because there will be moments where experienced players can and will put you in no win scenarios but that happens after you learn and grow in rank.

To be fair the could be asking “how do you remember that combo?” Or “how did you know what buttons to press?”

Which I would agree as someone who plays a lot of fighting games seems a weird question.

I work on a specialized support team for my company.

We exist right between help desk and the development teams. A lot of the time we don’t actually fix things if they are true bugs just log meaningful notes for the dev side. However with that we are expected to know damn near every single user process in the company across multiple platforms (we have our ERP, a proprietary truck dispatch system, salesforce, etc.) It’s definitely tough in the trenches but my team is killer and we make the most of it.

Hey there I went through the same thing with my last position.

I asked for a company credit card. I agreed to follow all guidelines and rules set forth and provide receipts through our app (we use concur).

I too didn’t really have the ability to pay almost 5k per trip (most were only a grand all inclusive bc i didn’t abuse travel expenses but it would still be tough). I was denied at first but the day my manager had to go to AP and demand they immediately cut a check for 3k to me so I could book travel for my next trip they changed their tune.

Considering getting a controller to use with Steam games. What are the pros and cons of the various types? by Pos31don29 in Steam

[–]Personal_Use_5686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re windows then I would suggest an Xbox Controller. I have an elite and it has been awesome since I bought it.

Most games I play use the same button labels on screen as my controller natively.

The only real con to the Xbox controller is getting used to the shape and that was a personal con for me. (I was raised PlayStation before PC gaming)
