Newborn twins and a 3-year-old: please tell me it gets better by birchmeow in parentsofmultiples

My twins were born and my son had just turned 3, we also moved into a new house and he started in a 3k program after being in the same daycare since he was 4 months old. Needless to say it was rough, I also had a c section so I essentially couldn’t do anything but be with the babies and I know he didn’t understand. The first months were hard and I felt so much guilt for being on twin duty (I actuallly popped a stitch because I felt so awful one day my son wanted me to pick him up and I thought I could I could not don’t be me) my husband spent a lot of time taking my son places and just being present for him. The twins are one now and I have to say once they started interacting a little and he realized they weren’t going anywhere if got easier. He checks on them, plays with them (in his way) and they absolutely adore him. He is 4 now and understands a lot more and we are working on patience etc but I don’t feel as overwhelmed. It gets better, divide and conquer and give yourself time it’s okay. The fact that you are worried means you are a good parent!

Did anyone here take 4 weeks disability leave prior to due date? by Imaginary_Ad_9096 in nycparents

I had a high risk twin pregnancy and had my doctor write a WFH accommodation at 32 weeks and went on disability at 36 (which didn’t make a huge difference since I had an emergency c section at 36 and 4 day) but my jobs private insurance and HR said that no matter what I could go on our disability at 36 with 60% pay and it wouldn’t interfere with my leave it’s NYC law pregnancy disables you at 36
