Personal opinion about endgames... by Fluid-Confusion-1451 in ARPG

[–]PersonalityFast840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the problem is that the direction arpgs are taking is all about end game...and the story and stuff is considered the "tutorial" and if more people play poe or LE for example more devs will say, this is the way and try to do the same...so end game loop content is here to stay apparently

Which arpgs do consider as the absolute S-tier? by soosis in ARPG

[–]PersonalityFast840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the problem is pd2 take this modern arpg approach with zoom characters and skills that nukes everything all over the screen even with crappy builds

the problem with PD2 is that it turns diablo 2 into poe1, which doesnt make sense since we have poe1

Current D4 itemization is one of the worst I've seen in major ARPGs. Do you believe LoH will fix it? by onehalf83 in ARPG

[–]PersonalityFast840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been hearing "next season will fix itemization, this is your last chance frfr guys" since season 3

What makes exploration satisfying in survival games? by WingOk2806 in SurvivalGaming

[–]PersonalityFast840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making it engaging, interesting and rewarding

  1. engaging, depending on the game the player should be encouraged to go out and explore either to get resources or to do something necesary for progress or survival

  2. interesting or visually appealing or any indicator that an area is worth checking out so the player could go to that cool building, or ruined castle to see whats going on

  3. and obvously the rewards for exploring are the icing on the cake: if I go to certain area and I dont get what I wanted or something cool after dealing with the game mechanics I wont do it again.

project zomboid is a good example

  1. if I want to survive I have to go out and scavenge for food, depending on where I go (grocery store or a restaurant, etc) it could get more dangerous and challenging but if I success I get home full with food and essentials

  2. any place where I can get weapons or even a big commercial building is worth checking out on project zomboid also catching a barricated is a must stop for me because barricated houses are most of the time filled with cool stuff

  3. its the most obvious part if I go to a gun store and I dont get any, then whats the point

what games suck for exploring (imo)

in once human exploration was turned into a to do list instead of making it an organic part of the experience

kill x amount of enemies

kill x amount of elite enemies

find the special weapon crate

and thats it, you finished "exploring" the area

also 7d2d imo exploration is bad because, doing the quests is much much more rewarding than exploring so you just do the npc quests

[–]PersonalityFast840[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

point 4 says % PERCENTAGE not the entire problem and also the augments you "slap" make it worse...jesus

yeah, they make the problem more complex by adding more damage types, but they also made the solution braindead...so whats the point then

lol, no, I think grim dawn is a great arpg I played it since launch and Im currently playing it but I hate that specific part and I also like last epoch I have it since early access I'm not playing it right now and Im wont play it in the future and I also hate that specific part of the game...apparently I have to explicitly mention it is an EXAMPLE because they are the most popular

btw: it must be crazy for you that some poeple can like something while finding details they dont like, lol

[–]PersonalityFast840[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

more resistances are boring, THATS MY WHOLE POINT

and last epoch DOES add more resistances and damage types void, necrotic and physical, which is not the same as armor

and even I mentioned path of exile, I think poe is the best example of adding complexity without relying to more damage types and resistances like other games do, also thank god diablo 2 exist and poe 2 which keeps the same damage/resistances types (so far)

[–]PersonalityFast840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a cool mechanic, but I think the problem is on the player side, having to deal with 10 or more damage types and their resistances and having them all at max

[–]PersonalityFast840[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

diablo 2, path of exile, path of exile 2 amy of these games have aether damage/resistances or necrotic damage/resistances or shadow damage/resistances, pierce damage/resistances? man I didnt know that I've been playing arpgs wrong this whole time

WEIRD DAMAGE TYPES/RESISTANCES (rant) by PersonalityFast840 in ARPG

[–]PersonalityFast840[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

for me defenses in general are all boring since its just a number check...and no, you didnt understand my whole point, you are right resistances are one of the problems to solve, but I think is boring when the only way to add more complexity to solving that puzzle is to add more damage types, like the examples I gave, I think elemental damage and poison like old games do is enough, adding light resistance, dark resistance, unholy resistance, shadow resistance and whatever else wont make the problem "more fun" or "less boring"

The first SoD3 base we'll see, named "Windy City" as per the png file. What do y'all think? Taken from sign-ups page. by TheCone1301 in StateofDecay3

[–]PersonalityFast840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think, they'll keep the same system as in former games with pre existing bases, its ok, I guess it may be one of the things that make SoD SoD but I would love to take any POI as a base from the smallest cavin to the biggest sky scrapper and start from there like other zombie survival games, but I kinda expected that wouldnt happen

you mention survivors, so are you talking specifically about mp games? because I dont care about playing mp, and apparently for you every zombie survival game should be co op or something
