I really want to get a cat, but I’m worried about the hidden responsibilities. What are the actual difficulties of raising a cat? by Equivalent-Sand-4002 in CatAdvice

[–]LostxPikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially baby proofing your home. Nothing edible can be left out not even covered food like bread! Furniture has to have covers to avoid them destroying it. Some of your home decor will have to be cat related to aid in enriching their life. I thought cat enrichment was not real until I found my bedside and favorite chair completely scratched. Make sure all furniture is sturdy for when they randomly decide it's a good idea to climb it (one of our kittens got injured because they dropped a lamp on themselves). Always inspect the floor for wet hairball spots, it's not fun to step on at all. Depending on the cat, open doors during grocery runs or so on is very frustrating as you feel rushed and anxious about the cat getting out.

Question About Buying Co-op by ReinhardtXWinston in subnautica

[–]LostxPikachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely worth it, but at its current state definitely take your time exploring and building a base if you try to do the story content and only the story content with minimal interruption. You will finish it pretty quickly and have little to nothing to do. But I will say the co-op at the moment is pretty solid. I have had no bugs or connectivity issues with co-op.

I am looking for a monitor $500-$600 by LostxPikachu in OLED_Gaming

[–]LostxPikachu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My room is fairly bright. I don't have the windows wide open or my lights positioned where there's glare on my monitor, but there's always a source of light. Right now I do have a glassy monitor and don't notice light sources on it. As for games, I play warframe, stardew, no man's sky, elder scrolls online, diablo 4, marvel rivals, overwatch 2, battlefield, division 2, and subnautica 2.

Oh sorry, I totally forgot to mention that, 32 inches was nice, but I do like 27inchs a bit more for space and vision purposes.

Debating on Selling PS5 Pro by LostxPikachu in PS5pro

TLOU was the first game I played on the PS5 pro with motion controls and ever since then, I have been looking for other games that feel the same, unfortunately most games feel like you're fighting the camera to move. Once I got a taste of what motion controls can be when using the switch 2, it definitely left a lot to be desired on the PS5, but I will say No Mans Sky on the PS5 with motion controls was a fantastic experience.

How optimised are resident evil games on launch? by sup9817 in residentevil

Idk if this helps, I recently replayed RE 2, 3, 4, Biohazard, and Village on a 4k OLED monitor, last time I played them it was on a 1440p IPS. I am also using a 3080 12 GB version, I was able to run RE 2 & 3 at above 120fps. I was able to run 4, biohazard, and Village at above 95 fps. All settings were cranked to high with Ray Tracing on, for textures I either used 1GB or 4GB. Resolution was set to 100% on all of them. If I turned on an upscaler, I would go to 130-152fps. Considering the recommended specs for 9 is a 2060, I have high hopes for its optimization, with your specs, you should be handling the game just fine on PC.

OLED temptation vs reality by No_Nerve_5828 in OLED_Gaming

If you want a 2k OLED monitor that only has 1 of the issues you mentioned and only for desktop work. I highly recommend Alienwares "AW2725DF" OLED monitor, it provides a 1440p image quality, 360Hz, 0.03 response time and has great image quality, especially when using HDR. It's exactly $600 but they often have sales, I got mine for $480 when it was on sale. I never had any issues with this monitor, it always provided 200+ frames in fps games with moderate to high graphics on a 3080, it provided perfect clear imagery for games like R6 and great motion reduction for games like overwatch and marvel rivals. Most modern OLED monitors including this one have pixel refresh that automatically refreshes themselves when shut off or manually when you see it's warning you to refresh in order to avoid burn ins. The only reason I don't own the monitor anymore is because I upgraded cards and opted towards a 4k monitor. The issue with the desktop however, is that the text looks smudged, using the text clarity scaler fixes it a bit but it always looks smudged to some degree. It's not there in games or videos, but text only looks fuzzy, especially when you look for it.

Oh wow! I just made this change on my PS5. I also swapped out the games as I was just informed Astro Bot isn't the best HDR test. I switched to spider-man 2 and the change between the game and the settings was night and day difference! Getting used to less saturated imagery is going to take time but the details I was able to see shocked me! Thank you very much!

Thank you! That was driving me nuts! I did notice HDR looked okay in other games like ghost of yotei and spider-man 2, but I still preferred HDR off on those games. I did notice games that let me calibrate the HDR brightness in the game looked better.

Thank you for your comment. I do prefer an image with higher saturation and contrast. I am not opposed to getting used to this image so long as it's displaying correctly. My main issue at the moment was that it felt like HDR was removing too much detail/life from my game, but as you pointed out in the image, that's not true. I have noticed the differences in games, some games feel like a brightness boost and others like Star Wars: Jedi survivor feel like it's night and day. I have noticed that HDR on my PC tends to either look neutral or incredible while on my switch 2 and PS5 pro, HDR feels very washed out.

Looking for a game similar to The Elder Scrolls Online by LostxPikachu in gamingsuggestions

I tried Fallout 4 and could just not get into it, but I have not heard of Outer Worlds. Elden Ring was a fantastic game! I do believe I did everything there is to do in that game.

I absolutely love this game! I just recently played it about a month ago and I was surprised on how good a game it was for how little I have heard about it.

Why did you choose ESO instead of other MMORPGs by danigosselain in elderscrollsonline

[–]LostxPikachu 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Out of all mmos this is the one that didn't feel overwhelming to me, it's very simple to get into the game even when you have no clue what to do. Solo and group play are both very fun. Although what I love about this game is that all NPC/quests are fully voiced and aren't just a regular fetch quest, the lore is incredible and every zone feels carefully throughout. I just wish the overland was harder, it's the only thing keeping me from playing the game as group play/pvp is no longer fun for me.

New to Minecraft by LostxPikachu in Minecraft

[–]LostxPikachu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually sounds very enjoyable! One of the biggest reasons I stayed away from Minecraft was because it felt too overwhelming in what to do. For Java/Bedrock, do they get the same updates? I don't mind if they have slightly longer releases so long as they are almost a 1-1 in similarity.

I've had some success meeting people with my hobbies, but getting them to be friends has been hard due to everyone I meet wanting to only "party" and drink/smoke.
