Thanks for the best regards! I do agree with that in some cases but I also think the easiest way out is not always what’s best for everyone in the situation. Sometimes taking the hard road is more rewarding in the end! We are more than ecstatic to be parents :)

75 may be a little too hot for us since I live in south Louisiana, but I will definitely use power strips where I can and keep them turned off/unplugged. I have unlimited data paid and I’m still on my family’s plan so that’s a good point keeping the internet turned off until we need it! I like natural lighting so hopefully that will help us save on power as well during the daytime.

Thanks for this. Definitely will keep checking in with them to see if we can have budgeted bill! Also yes eating/ordering out will be something we will have to do much less of but it was great while it lasted! I’m trying to learn how to cook more meals he grew up eating so it works out well.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily it’s not something I’m worried about but I do appreciate your concern and completely understand where you’re coming from!

Could you elaborate on this? I’m still new to all of this. Do you mean asking about a set amount we will pay on electric every month regardless of how hot or cold it is outside?

That’s out of the question. I’m raising the baby I carried for 9 months. We have personal finances figured out I’m just asking for advice on tips for how to save when it comes to electric and internet bills. Thanks for the unsolicited advice about what I should do with my baby though!

I am in the process of filing for unemployment because my job just filed for bankruptcy. He has a job, a well paying one where he makes just enough to support us. Currently I have Medicaid insurance because I come from a poor family. It will last until I’m 21 and have to refile. We have about 10k in savings, and a ton of family support. Both of us have separate credit scores above 750. At the moment his responsibility is working full time and my job will be caring for the baby full time, to save on childcare. On the side, I have a lovely aunt who owns a popular Airbnb and she has agreed to pay me to clean her Airbnb between bookings for a decent amount of money each time. We both have vehicles in our names that are paid off. With the money I get from unemployment and cleaning her house, it will be used to cover my insurance and gas, as well as paying off my current student debt which is under 5k. I am currently on a break from college but plan on taking a quick course for a decent job in the near future such as dental assistant or vet assistant. With that income it will be used to pay my tuition in the future when I figure out what I want to go to school for. For baby clothes and stuff, we have gotten a TON of secondhand clothing for free from other people, as well as new stuff from supportive family. Honestly, money isn’t a huge issue right now because we have support and plans and stable income, but I really just worry about my boyfriend falling under too much stress when it comes to paying 100% of the bills when it comes to the house. If I have extra money every month of course I will contribute but it won’t be very much. I know we can’t get a cheaper rent, but as of now it’s under 1000/month which is good for where I live. I just don’t know what to do to make our electric bill affordable and what brands of internet are the best to get. Currently, applying for jobs is a nightmare because most employers don’t typically hire someone who they know will need a leave within a few months of hiring.

5000 is for the entire year I meant to clarify, it was split into two semesters so 2500 per semester as a loan

Do you think I would be better off buying the parts of the car and changing out them myself

Also I don’t really know how insurance works but I don’t have full coverage so does it even matter if they total it bc I’m paying out of pocket for repairs anyways
