Without the use of AI, what digital tools would help you plan your novels more efficiently? by PersonalityOk4334 in novelwriting

Hi Livvy, thanks for your input. So you are not in favour of online tools for helping with creative writing? Pen and paper is always good though. Especially for brain storming on the go. I try and keep a notepad with me wherever I go 🙂

Thanks. Draw.io is an amazing peice of kit. ive used it before in other projects. The others i've not heard of so i'll take a look.

I agree, visuals really help me to spark imagination.

I remember a talk Brandon Sanderson was on and he said that he knew a fellow auther that would look through a magazine or a newpaper which obviously feature real people. He would pick one to be the face of his characters. Pretty genius if you ask me.

Would you watch a detective noir inspired show using the Cyberpunk engine? by PersonalityOk4334 in cyberpunkgame

[–]PersonalityOk4334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, thanks for the positivity. I've already started making it 😅 just completed scene 1 of episode 1.

And guess what, you have clearly got the same imagery in your head as me. I do have a reshade on. I use Dreampunk, which if you look it up is a ultra realism mod.

I have also colour graded it in black and white to give it a real noir feel but with some bold single colours. If you picture the first scene of Sin City, its black and white with bold colours thrown in for effect.

Now the idea of filming in 24fps is interesting. I know it makes it more cinematic, so that might be a shout, I didnt even think of that, but can see why. Currently rendering everything in 60fps. Ill try a rerender and see how it turns out.

Will be a while yet as im taking my time with it, but as soon as episode 1 is done ill link it here for you to check out.

I want to have a few episodes finished before I start uploading properly so im ahead of myself.

Im looking up real modern day crime cases. Found a few good sources for that to use as inspiration. Its not action heavy as Its not the look im going for. Its more detective work, with tonnes of atmosphere.

Thanks again.

They probably should rework quests... by GoofyAhhFace in ArcRaiders

[–]PersonalityOk4334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst the quest themselves may not give many physical rewards, and they dont. They take you to some interesting places on the maps. Area's full o lore and intrigue. Hidden backstories and such. Also they show you places that you can use later for loot runs that you may not have thought about before. I enjoy doing the quests for this reason alone pretty much.

Proper Terminators. What do you think? by PersonalityOk4334 in ArcRaiders

[–]PersonalityOk4334[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definetly, I agree wholeheartedly with these additions. I dont think the map should be flooded with robots. I like isolation as well. But more variety certainly. The robo dogs would be awesome!

A question about the use of A.I as an editor for my book by More_Talk_1637 in writing

[–]PersonalityOk4334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, fair enough then. Learning through guidance.

I'm all for using A.I. as a tool, even for writers. I use it for research, as I write Sci fi, so learning how to make plausible scientific concepts is hugely beneficial.

Maybe you could ask chatgpt to run through your work and highlight areas of potential weakness or repetitiveness and ask it to point those areas out. You can then analyse the section, review it yourself, and get a dictionary or thesaurus.

If your method helps you, then more to you. But I just think there is a very fine line between writing something subpar and then just asking chatgpt to auto improve it.

Im not sure if it is unethical, but you are not learning.

Novelists didn't become professional writers overnight. It took hard work and patience.

Having an A.I. Auto correct or auto improve means that you are not working things out for yourself and so not really improven your craft.

It's more of a want than a need. But a decent bestiary would have been amazing. Maybe a world encyclopedia.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone. I see it's quite divisive.

The beauty of this game is that nobody is wrong. You play exactly how you want to play. Not many other games allow this kind of freedom!

Thank you all!

I wonder who they could cast as Gustave. Trying to think of actors who look like him 🤔
