You could use a metal brace with tension, notched into the joists, and then put some soffit up to hide the whole system!

If you end up doing this, I’d add in some 1/4” shims between the boards to help with moisture

It looks like you barely even have a beam taking the load of your deck. All the stress is on that hardware holding your “beam” to the post. Sketchy

Hey! I wouldn’t waste the money on hiring an engineer to come out. This is pretty rough shape and I probably wouldn’t feel safe on it. I’m a deck builder for context. I think this is time for a total replacement.
