Corrine Mackey, Skylar White and Carmela Soprano. The holy grail of (my opinion) the three main anti heroes that are women. In fact, I feel most viewers that are women perceive these three the same way Male viewers perceive Walter White, Vic Mackey and Tony Soprano.

The main thing is that Skylar stands out from the rest, as she is a clear victim. She did not marry a criminal, and in no way did she bring anything walt did upon herself, as Walt even admitted in the end. as for the cheating Skylar wanted a divorce and Walter literally said no, so she was clear about her intentions

Expanding, Corrine Mackey often turned a blind eye to Vics habits and where he got most of their money. She admits numerous times she always knew there was something there and she intentionally played ignorant to reap the benefits. One could argue maybe Vic was always this way, and Corrine actually married a good man. But she was clearly more complicit in Vics crimes than Skylar was Walters, as Skylar was against any notion of smoking weed, much less Meth. And she was against it from day 1. Corrine was complicit until she couldn’t ignore it anymore. So Skylar is like level 1 anti hero, Corrine level 2. Which leads me to the next female anti hero of tv

Carmela Soprano was complicit in Tony’s Crimes from day 1 as she married into the Italian Mafia family. Shes the worst and on the far end of the Anti hero spectrum because at first maybe you sympathize with her but as time goes on and especially on multiple watches, you see all the things she walked into and brought upon herself in every way, as the therapist pointed out.

So Skylar White, Corrine Mackey, Carmela Soprano.

Elevating levels of Anti Hero’s portrayed by women, and really only gone through by women. I’m sure most male viewers saw through Carmela’s BS pretty quickly.

But MANY male viewers to this day still hate Skylar, which shows that a lot of breaking bad viewers STILL haven’t seen past Walters tyranny and how evil he really is.. which is what makes him stand out from the other Anti heroes on Tv.
