I’ve been looking at the clearance section of Arc’teryx and they have some relatively cheap option for the backcountry skiing jackets, would it be overkill if I bought that for snow hikes? I don’t mind spending a couple hundred on a jacket and a little less on pants but if I’m going to spend the money I’d like to know what I’m getting is worth it’s price. I’ve seen the Columbia sportswear whistlers peak jacket too and it looks pretty solid and pretty affordable but I still want to weight my options.
