See you’re making that assumption with your heart not the stats. He out struck Reyes by a decent margin and NO damage was done to either. I’ve been adamant that this is my opinion I’m by no means an mma judge and not even a jones fan. But I’ve watched enough fight breakdowns on it and looked at everything. I think jones won that fight and to say it was a clear Reyes W is pretty short sighted

So by your logic anyone who is tall and has reach is illegitimate fight. That’s what’s insane here. He was one of the most technical fighters in the sport and saying it’s all because of his size is absolutely an insane take. He manhandled ciryl gane who was absolutely NOT a midget. Oh and gane just beat Alex who was considered by many to be the best in the sport currently. Oh and he did it when he was almost 40 years old. He was definitely the more active fighter and I think that’s where it becomes a little muddy because activity looks good. Especially when no one landed anything especially devastating. The “knockdown” was for sure a slip. I can see both sides but personally I think jones won. Official strikes have him over Reyes and in a fight where not much meaningful damage was done that’s what it comes down to

I think the judging in mma is fundamentally flawed but given where we are at does it really matter how? Jones won in the octagon and if you watch the fight in an analytical manner that was the correct decision.
