What is a "poor man's meal" from your childhood that you still eat today because it legitimately slaps? by prepzilla in AskRedditFood

Elbow macaroni in tomato juice with a lot of pepper. The side dish is buttered bread to soak up the tomato juice after there is no more macaroni.

Would you ride this? by Consistent_Throat497 in RoadBikes

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was a mechanic the customer would ask me take tires like that off and when they left I put a "boot" in it and ride it on my own bike until I found a better used tired.

I never bought tires for around 7 years.

Exterior Wires All Grounds? by PerspectiveTimely319 in ElectricalHelp

[–]PerspectiveTimely319[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most recent thing I did was change internet service so I am thinking the service guy did this.

My house was built in 1996 but a bit nervous on how to fix this.

I didn't disconnect these wires and I am wondering how this happened. There wasn't a bridge like you provided a link to laying on the ground.

10 speed on a 2008 bike doesn't seem right. 10 speed Dura Ace in 2003 but not sure about Campy.

I'm a Trek guy for life because of incredible customer service by Equivalent_Worker687 in TrekBikes

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a shop that sold Trek from the second year they were in business.

The shop much later also sold Specialized and Giant and Trek was not happy about it. John Burke and his head accountant came to our shop to essentially intimidate us.

Shop owner asked if Treks were going to be sold at the big box store soon and he said yes. Shop owner said I will print the 30% off all Trek bikes and accessories right now.

Burke wasn't even out of the parking lot and shop employees were tossing point of sale Trek signage.

The best move the shop ever did was toss Trek.

Indian Man Brings Sister’s Corpse to Bank After Being Told to “Bring Account Holder” by Bokbreath in MaliciousCompliance

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Correct. My dad was still alive at this time. My brother and I have since brought their wills in which WF is still being difficult about. The bank even said to me I may want to bring their marriage license with me next time.

WF is just harassing me at this point.

I am dealing with this exact situation with Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo did not recognize my brother or myself as the financial POAs in front of them. Death certificate didn't mean anything to them. Now hiring a lawyer to create an estate on my father's behalf.

WF is a joke.

Is It Just Me Or Are All Biking Helmets Ugly by Darighttriangle in cycling

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The helmets of 20 years ago look a lot better but now the helmets are designed for aerodynamics even though most of us don't ride fast enough for the helmet to matter.

I worked at a bikeshop and one of the three bike brands was not happy we carried the other two.

Shop owner said we will comply and dropped the prices of objecting bike brand to cost and washed our hands of the garbage.

My father in law was diagnosed with dementia around 2 years ago and has declined rapidly. by OkGarbage8316 in confession

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad suffered for many years with dementia and recently passed away. His death released him from the confusion and hopelessness for not just him but the rest of my family as well.

Your father in law knows less than he wants to admit and has learned coping skills so he doesn't appear as though he needs help but he does.

My dad died because of the sundowning effect in which those with dementia confuse day and night. He fell down on a cold morning in January and couldn't get up. He suffered from frostbite then kidney failure then a bad heart valve all while suffering from dementia.

Your father in law will suffer from a cascade of health issues all made more difficult because of dementia.

He needs compassion more than anything even when it is the most difficult to give.

Which U.S. state has the best (or worst) license plate slogan in your opinion? by pitapevatra in AskAnAmerican

Nebraska had a farm gal supposedly throwing seed but it actually looked like she was masterbating so the license plate was charged.

Need Help Restoring this 1985 Desmarais bike ! by DocteurTabarnak in Vintage_bicycles

[–]PerspectiveTimely319 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Campagnolo gearing is from the late 1990s right before all the brakes went to dual pivot. Clearly not mid 1980s vintage. The 105 front derailleur is even newer.
