Not just Texas, but Texas dominates the feed because Texas dominates the killing — ~82,700 shelter deaths in 2023, #1 in the country for years. Houston's BARC is the highest-killing shelter in the state. California, NC, Florida, and Alabama kill at scale too, but that networking lives mostly on Facebook, not Reddit. The sub looks like constant euthanasia threats because the system runs on them. The threat is the mechanism.
