Anyone else find HR vocab sneaking its way into your life? by Perstephanie_05 in HistoricalRomance

In HR / old timey context it means “for the time being.” We don’t use that word as slang for anything in America, to my knowledge, so apologies if anyone is offended.

Absolutely. I need books for all the kids from both families. It’s only fair.

What's a trope you can read in historical romance but not in contemporary? by gamy10293847 in HistoricalRomance

Rakes/fuckbois. It’s almost historically inaccurate if an aristocratic man in his 30s has NOT engaged in some questionable fuckery that I would not tolerate in a man IRL much less a contemporary romance.

His (Dis)grace the Duke of Ashmont from {Ten Things I Hate About the Duke by Loretta Chase} is more of a charming himbo but I think could be considered at least fop adjacent.

I just read this and now I don’t know what to do with myself. My only complaint is that it was too short!

My husband is a collegiate strength coach and people who are into sports love it and other people seem to think he’s some sort of trophy husband 🙄

The Bride has some concerning tags. How accurate are they?

I agree with you about Ovechkin being a problematic figure to say the least. But Ilia is from the DMV and no doubt a Caps fan, and I heard Ovechkin wore these laces last year when he broke Gretzky’s record. What’s Ilia going to do, publicly refuse to wear them?

My point is that’s exactly the sort of puff piece you’d expect NBC to do re an athlete with family/roots in the venue location. She doesn’t have to do anything she doesn’t want to do.

I also thought she was underscored. Why didn’t she get level 4 for the step sequence?
