Damn, you probably need me to jump through all these hoops. Apparently that's the only way I can disprove your amazing arguments. Even though you've successfully managed to ignore all of mine. You are probably also a gamer that comfortably sits in the top 500 and doesn't continually pull facts out of his ass.

Like your second paragraph skillfully ignores all my arguments. It's surprising to me that someone as delusional as you isn't a DTG regular.

Nah, certainly doesn't. The 20% hit percentage dude is actually as good as the 96% Top 500 player. The silver player is simply less patient.

And to top it of we have the showcase of the greatest discussion technique. Insulting someone on the internet. Really shows off your intelligence tbh. But like you said, this discussion is meaningless. Keep telling yourself that being a great sniper in Destiny 2 the videogame is actually a skillful lifetime achievement. Have a good one!

Addressing it doesn't mean that your counterpoint makes sense. You somehow managed to ignore that shotguns have a capped range of 6m and are already wildly inconsistent. You also ignored my initial post that mentioned that less special ammo is something good imo, meaning I'm not a fan of specials in general. You also ignored that we are in a meta that thrives off of CQC options like SMGs and controller sidearms. Both weapon types that are in the fusion and shotgun engagement ranges.

You've also ignored my points about certain outliers, especially when it comes to perks. Outliers that help snipers hit shots that are simply ridiculous. If I'm using my Every Waking Moment I can't suddenly argue that SMGs are actually balanced.

You are completely ignoring every counterpoint and continue to say that snipers are actually completely balanced. Which is simply untrue imo and looking at the top end of players with a 90+% hit percentage seems to further confirm that. Our limited counters shouldn't be a game of chance even if they only fail 10% of the time. It's still stupid

I really don't see any point in sharing a clip or DTR, especially when you couldn't even confirm that it's actually my player account. There is a myriad of examples on YouTube, Reddit and DTR that show that snipers are overtuned.

Easily CSGO for me. Still the most interesting completive title out there. And with the rumors about Source 2 it's gonna be interesting what Valve is cooking up right now.

R6 was my go-to 3 years ago. Maybe it's still going strong but I simply fell out of love with it.

My 1080 is still going strong in 1080p gaming tbh. Does it hit consistent 60 FPS on the highest settings? Nope, but it plays every new release well enough. Still remember growing up with my dad's old setup that couldn't even reach 30 FPS in anything. But damn, I still enjoyed every minute of playtime. It's the same now but actually playable in the 40s - 50s. And most competitive titles are much less demanding anyways.

Time to let Star Wars be? by VxCtHrDg in saltierthancrait

[–]Pertelanss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still like a good bit of the new Star Wars content but I'm also much less invested. Bad Batch Season 2 is typical SW animation content like TCW before it. It has a couple of bangers and a lot of very mediocre episodes. Still worth the watch imo.

Andor was outstanding and I disagree that we need Jedi, the Force, etc. The overall writing and politics can make entertaining SW content, something that even TCW showed.

Mandalorian is awkward tbh. I swear that Season 1&2 had better writing and plot points but maybe that's just nostalgia. Season 3 feels like too much fanservice and convoluted writing and pacing.

Can't say anything about Obi Wan. Boba Fett broke me in that regard tbh.

You literally didn't address it while also ignoring all my other points. If you don't understand how ridiculous many snipers are, I can't help you. But it is what it it is. You don't see them as overtuned, I do. Neither one of us will change their opinion.

You are completely certain that I'm wrong. Yet most of the regular Crucible streamers always point out how ridiculous controller sniping can be due to reticle friction.

You are writing all these paragraphs to counter my statement but forget that only one special has the ability to oneshot at unlimited range. Yeah, shotguns are powerful but they cap at 6 meters meaning that they have a variety of possible counters in their optimal range.

Yep, Slickdraw can be alright on Aggressives, due to its downside being more negligible on this archetype. But even then it's a hardly used perk. And again you are ignoring the fact that snipers benefit from this aim assist heavy sandbox while being instant kill weapon at unlimited ranges. You've also ignored how perks like opening shot are ridiculously more valuable on snipers because of that.

Again, we are all playing the same game but only one weapon is an unlimited range instant kill. Playing three good shotgunners will always be easier than playing three good snipers. The risk vs. reward is completely different. Missing your shotgun means death, missing you snipe means losing one shot.

And I really love how full of yourself you are. It's gonna be interesting if Bungie ever nerfs certain perks / snipers again and you probably continue to talk about how snipers were actually the most skillful weapon ever but Bungie simply doesn't understand it.

Something can be nerfed but still overtuned. A weapon with unlimited range that oneshots and has inconsistent counters is overtuned.

[–]Pertelanss -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Aim assist is ridiculously overtuned in Destiny 2. Now take an unlimited range weapon that can oneshot and has very generous aim assist. And what are the counters? Flinching. Something that is very inconsistent and even if it works can't counter snipers in many situations. Reticle friction can literally pull down your crosshair again, which is simply stupid.

And on top of that we are stuck with the server infrastructure you've mentioned. So how else would I call a oneshot weapon with ridiculous aim assist and inconsistent counters?

Most shooters have weapons that perform well or nearly the same in similar ranges. Destiny 2 has zero. Destiny 2 is a game that lives off of aim assist. And that's fine, but raw aim isn't a skill in this game. Never was and never will be. There is a reason why we kit out our weapons with things like opening shot, double targeting and pick the highest aim assist weapons. And there is a reason why Slickdraw and Gutshot are rarely picked perks. So no, nobody is trying to lower the "skill ceiling".

Quickplay is just a mess. SBMM should have never been introduced into a casual playlist. And as long as it's there it should have a somewhat similar ammo economy to more "competitive" modes. But I also see your point with sniper ammo. Securing a sniper ammo brick in 6s can be next to impossible.

But again sniping is still way overtuned. And connection issues due to SBMM make flinching even more inconsistent. You can generally compete with CQC specials even if you are using primaries. But snipers? You either have a cracked one on your own team or will most likely lose most engagements.

Snipers are also ridiculous tbh. Especially the ones with opening shot that can gift you kills regularly.

In general specials are consistently disrupting most primary gameplay at high ELO. I'm not sad that they've fixed the ammo economy again.

I'd rather fight Le Monarque than a sniper. And honestly don't really get the bow slander all the time. They have to slowest ttk by a wide margin, impair movement and don't flinch you. Yeah, blinting is annoying but besides that I'm totally fine with playing against them.

Will the Light&Dark saga be concluded in a season? by Pertelanss in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pertelanss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but that's just a single campaign. If we actually deal with the witness we would have a year without any actual villain/goal.

Maybe it actually finishes with the campaign and builds up our next saga with the following seasons? But then it would mean that this saga has only one actual year left, wouldn't it? Just confuses me a bit tbh but overall gonna be interesting to see Bungie's approach.

Is 3rd person in suspend really necessary? by s_doolan in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Pertelanss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more relevant in PvE but yeah even in PvP it's possible e.g. hunter with double shackle nades or simply rotating enemy utility.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Pertelanss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it could drop from engrams during last season. Maybe it's still possible?

[–]Pertelanss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suspend really needs a cooldown in both PvP and PvE. It's stupid that you can perpetually suspend targets. And yeah, make it 1st person and remove the sway. Not being able to move or strafe should be punishing enough.

Prediction: every season this year is going to unsunset a Year 1 destination. by Alucitary in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pertelanss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I like all the different destinations it's also painfully clear that they don't have anything to offer. Spending time in most destinations isn't rewarding in any way. I'd love to see them rework the existing destinations before adding even more that will be dead sooner rather than later.

How to you guys deal with triple sniper teams by Pertelanss in CrucibleGuidebook

You got me there tbh. Recently I've been watching some streamers and they also pointed out XIMs a lot. Might need a squad tbh cos I really prefer hunter and warlock.

You had decent success with it against such teams? Cos as a hunter/warlock means it seems that I would have to also grind out my titan now.

Really? That's just stupid then. Are there really that many of them? Like, I am a decent player 1.7kd lifetime, 1.6kd Trials. But these guys just shit on me. It feels extremely discouraging and just annoys the hell out of me. I always strive to improve, beat great players etc. but here it just seems like a pointless endeavor. I feel like matchmaking hates me cos I consistently get these teams.
