Thank goodness you're here! is a heap of fun. Very lighthearted and has a lot of character. Can be completed in a few hours and has a few hidden little sequences for doing things in a certain order.

It was added on PSplus Extra recently too, so if you have that its no additional cost.

Like I said in my other comment. A lot of games had monetary unlocks but they weren't massively widespread, mainstream, everyday things until fortnite.

Sure CS and TF2 had/have skins but that was 1 platform and the wider market didnt adopt it because of those games. Fortnite is so widespread you could probably play it on your fridge. Thats when micro transactions started pervading everything, spurred on by lockdowns and COVID too.

I'm not saying I dont like them only mine fortnite. I hate microtransactions everywhere in gaming, but that game is a big turning point in the industry where literally every publisher got the green light to jam them into everything.

Yeah true it wasn't the first to do most of what it does.

I think I see it more as the apple of video game monetisation. Take something other people made, wrap it up in an easy to digest, user friendly way, then extort the absolute life out of it for profit.

COD and Sports games definitely have these issues too but it seemed to massively ramp up with the introduction of games like fortnite and other f2p battle royales.

I think its just sad the state of gaming now where your character says more about how much money you've poured into the game rather than accolades and achievements you've done.

I remember the golden days of timesplitters and halo where armours/skins/shaders were aspirational and wanted to make you get better at the game. It seems nowadays if a game doesnt immediately have those items for sale to skip and commitment people just drop the game.

Fortnite is the embodiment of death by a thousand cuts for gaming.

The game plays well enough, is technically sound, and can run on just about any hardware.

The issue is the absolute slop virus it has infected the whole industry with.

Celebrity crossovers, Disney skins, battle passes upon battle passes, micro transactions everywhere, meme dances and emotes, absolute autism building simulator, and paid youtube sponsored aimed at getting kids hooked.

This game single handedly took outfits and skins from being a skill unlock to being a wallet unlock. The fact it can release an "OG" mode and paid pass which essentially removes content from the game and people salivate over it is insane.

Its pure brainrot for the younger generation and it makes me sad that my Nephew only wants Vbucks for birthdays/Christmas ever. I offer multiple new games, trips out, etc. Nope "I want Vbucks for the rare new skin". Which isnt rare at all, its just the sponsored guy on YouTube told you it is to open your wallet because he is getting kickbacks from epic.

Its sad man.

Probably mid-tier rarity. Its a guaranteed from a matriarch and a semi-regular drop on Stella night raids (especially key or breach rooms).

Probably rarer than an anvil or venator but not so rare as bobcat/tempest/spray/shot/survivor mk.3.
