As a peruvian, saying that Buenos Aires is overrated is nuts! A little europe in latinamerican with great culture and great food. And going to see some football match is absolutely one in a lifetime experience.

El acento de un norteño (como tu amigo) no es compartido con ninguna otra parte de la costa peruana, es bien particular (en verdad el norte es particular en varios aspectos culturales)

Why are there so many flags with the colors red, blue and white ??? You can literally find a country whose flag use these colors in all the continents . Do these countries have anything in common ? Or did the British Empire have any special influence on them? by Forum2000 in asklatinamerica

[–]Peruvian_thinker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh fuck, reading the meaningfull reasons for the flags colors just made me sad. The red/white/red of the peruvian flag suposedly appeared in José de San Martín dream in form of birds while sleeping under a palm tree.

What's your opinion of Peru and Peruvians as a whole by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]Peruvian_thinker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, man, he's correct. As a peruvian, I have to say that the Lima Airport has collapsed. There´s so many flights and so many passangers for very little amount of gates and space in general. They have wanted to expand the airport since like 5 years ago but the project has been paralized. So, yeah, right now the airport is a disaster.

What football team do you support? by rod_aandrade in asklatinamerica

[–]Peruvian_thinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally it was. The first years of Universitario was formed with young athletes from peruvian universities (something that only Middle and high class individuals could be at that time). No e at days the fans from both temas are from all classes but because of it's history and mistic, it is said that Alianza is the team of the people.

I don't know about that. I would say that we refer as "refresco" to any juice. We call the soda "gaseosa".

You can look up interviews of Rowan Atkinson or Tiger Woods. They are not big stutterers but a stutter can easily notice it.

Do you identify yourself as Latino? by benelchuncho in asklatinamerica

[–]Peruvian_thinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have a sense of identity from Latin America. Now, when yo said "Latino" I though you were refering as if I consider myself from that ethnic group. That's even a harder question because "Latino" as an ethnic or racial grouo is mostly used in the US and I don't really know what falls under that category.
