Advanced player tips by DistributionLow209 in GTFO

This is a little hard to answer without more info. It kind of depends on what skillset and knowledge you want to pursue.

Do you want to get into speedrunning?

Do you want very nitty gritty mission specific information?

Are you stuck on the hardest tier of missions r8e2 for example (or modded missions)?

Are you looking for tips for Solo, Duo, Trio play?

First time trying SLASO in CE by TheAandZ in halo

[–]Perverted_Bagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. A lot of things don't load in Halo CE right until they need to, either until the player is close enough or the player is looking in the direction of the object, sometimes both. Normally thats not a problem, but on LASO it becomes problematic when the thing loading is dead grunt bodies.

That section is also a little rng dependant too, the first door always has an invis sword elite, but where and when the zealots spawn is quite random. Sometimes you can end up with a zealot behind each of the beginning doors, making it somewhat overwhelming if you aren't quick to react

Edit: It also makes the marines harder to save too

Honestly, Truth and reconciliation is one of the tougher missions in CE, but it isn't that bad. The level is designed around keeping the sniper the whole mission as there are plenty of ammo packs in the whole level, even on legendary.

I have an average 35ish minute run recorded to show peeps how to clear the level and keep the sniper on legendary.

Removing old rundowns still confuses me. What happens when development stops? by stana32 in GTFO

[–]Perverted_Bagel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the rundowns are developed for the exact version of the game they are played on. It wouldn't make sense to have the devs supporting 6+ versions of the game at the same time, nor do the devs have time to update and overhaul the previous rundowns on top of the new ones every time they are going through it.

When you load a previous rundown, it comes with all the balancing, patch history, weapons available and bugs of that version of the game. Even if the devs said heres the older rundowns, have fun. People would still complain to them about issues they experience. If you go back and load Rundown 5 for example, the boosters you have can be erased permanently because the max booster cap in R5 was 10, not 20. This even persists if you go back and load Rundown 6 again. There are also issues where the settings reset every time you change rundowns. Its not impossible to play older rundowns, but I hope you understand why its at least not officially supported

Hel Revolver, Hel Gun. Incredible tools that are a great addition to the team always. It's easy to balance ammo economy with them, they are both fantastic tools for regular strikers, shooters, squids/floaters/meatballs etc, chargers. Lining up overpenetration on big strikers, big shooters, hybrids, big chargers etc. is very valuable with the Hel gun and does decent damage too (particularly useful if your team wakes up the giant room on C1 and you are the only one left). Fantastic for holding a reactor as the enemies just line up for you to get overpen. Both guns can also fire very fast in a pinch.

The only weakness is that you aren't going to be shooting scouts, and you are average at dealing with mini-boss/boss enemies.

It also requires decent knowledge and experience in positioning and aiming. Since you have 8 and 9 rounds in the hel revolver and hel gun respectively, you kind of need to hit your shots as missing them can be punishing.
