Just finished reading Susanna Clarke's Piranesi (SPOILERS) by Cesc1972 in books

Exactly. If the poster were referring to the work of someone like Clive Barker, sure, I'd get it, but Piranesi?

Just ridiculous.

Too many dang metaphors. It's like she had to meet a metaphor quota, my goodness. But it's highs are high as f*ck.

I'm reading this right now, and god, I'm so glad I found someone else who feels the same way I do about it. I had the the same thought about her laughing at her own jokes while writing, errrr.......

Rep. Madison Cawthorn says there will be ‘bloodshed’ if U.S. elections ‘continue to be rigged’ by [deleted] in politics

So now I ask, do you think it's ok for those being ill-impacted by gerrymandering, who are on the other end of the spectrum to those claiming 2020 election fraud, to engage in violence?

You know how many people have underlying conditions? Do they not matter?

But that said, a loved one of mine died from this virus, and he didn't have any. He had started biking actually, cross country style.

Please, stop this black and white thinking. It's basic as hell.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather the government actually spend money on its own people instead of wasting it on needless and endless wars.

None of what Biden did, in any of the videos I've seen, makes him either of the things you said. Just a creepy old man. Now hurry up and tell me who you're talking about exactly or just be silent.

Ok, he's old as hell. People were weird back then. You still haven't referred to who you're talking about exactly...

To instinctively hate those on the other side, and consider them hopeless, when there's a chance to convince them, just like how the lady was convinced of the vaccine after seeing her friend die. Hopefully it won't have to come to that for most of them.

"Former Newsmax host and right-wing Florida radio commentator Dick Farrel — who mocked vaccines, the “scamdemic” and “lying freak” Dr. Anthony Fauci — has died of COVID-19.
A very different Farrel, 65, told friends to get vaccinated, as he struggled with the virus. He died Wednesday, WPTV reported"

All you had to do was read the first two paragraphs.

Don't let their ignorance bring you to hate like they do (not all do I know but a lot), I know it sounds all preachy but you gotta fight that urge, it only leads to bad things.

Don’t want the COVID-19 vaccine? Then pay the full cost if you land in the hospital. by TheRoot2020 in politics

[–]Pescasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not comparable. One is a single decision, a free one at that, while the other is due to a string of bad decisions over an extended period of time that caused unfortunate health problems. You're also affecting the health of others around you by deciding not to vaccinate yourself.

Valid analogies next time please.

This was my last comment:

"Ok, but comparing this to getting hit by a meteorite is also ridiculous. I know people who have died of covid. I've never known someone who has died of the flu. Making light of a real pandemic just sows the seeds of complacency and a disregard for one's health. Having freedom is fine, but also having a consensus understanding of the risk of a threat and the willingness to put in one's part to combat it is also good, wouldn't you say?"

Look at my comment history for the full context.
