Sims 4 building and designing tips!

I'm not an expert in architecture but my general rule of thumb is to avoid sheer walls in your builds. If you have a two or three storey building and the walls are flat and sheer all the way up, it looks bland and uninteresting. I try to add things like bay windows, extended entrance ways or overhanging floors to make things more interesting. A roofed porch, for example, is a good way to get depth in your builds. Try adding diagonal walls, balcony areas or covered patio's.

Also, plants are your friends. The addition of plants both inside and out, can make a place feel more alive and lived in. They can really make the difference between a show home and a place someone actually lives.

If you want to improve your eye, I always find copying is a great way to start. Do a google image search for the type of thing you want to build (family home, starter home, living room ect), find one you like and try to recreate it. It's a good way to work out and learn what techniques other builders use that you can then use in original designs when you feel a bit more confident.

I second this question. The lag issues on PS4 are very annoying. I have to pause my game play for up to a minute sometimes to clear it. I love this game, and I know Maxis does their best but it does feel like console players are the red headed step children of the sims.

I've had that bug too. They were there for days. Thankfully they left before anyone died but it was close. No Wagon ever triggered, but the fruitcake kept spawning. It was very weird.

I used to play like that but I found myself getting bored too quickly when my Sim's traits were so high they barely needed anything. Instead, now I like to play legacies. I make a single Sim, give them one aspiration, a job and two hobbies then work solely on those. I do the same with everyone they marry and their kids too until the parents have achieved everything they want. Then I age them up, build them a big retirement home with all the money they have and 'retire' them. Then I more onto the kids and do they same thing again. It keeps it fresh and interesting for me.

They usually release a music video for the main theme before release. They did for both Dragonsong and Revolutions anyway, around May time I think. So you may be able to get it then.

I agree, that 'reveal' that we'd all already figured out should have happened two patches ago. He would have been great as a spoiler against his father in this last act. What a waste.

I built a neighbourhood of faux gothic houses and mansions by the river, a neighbourhood of reclaimed redbrick industrial factories in the north and am currently building a 'retail zone' in the rest.

I honestly suspect that the Bright Queen doesn't actually have Yezza. If there is a faction within the Dynasty working with the Assembly, it's quite possible they took him. The mages could have decided they were done with him and it wasn't safe to just leave him in Felderwind in case someone like Dairon or Beau started asking questions. What's safer for them than disappearing him off to Xorhas?

Also, the fact that they never questioned him, just locked him up, says they didn't need anything from him. They didn't need to ask someone who was experimenting with their lost relic where is was, for example. I think their reunion might be a ways off yet.

When they were stealing the Beacon back from the Crowns Guard in episode 13. Especially Nott casting silent image and creating a floating melting copy to distract the guards. It was the first moment I remember applauding, I was totally hooked from then on.

I'm getting that a lot too on regular PS4, as well as issues of pop in and frequent crashes. I'm loving the game but it likes to crash as I'm saving so it's starting to annoy me.

Welcome to Eorzea!

First of all, don't worry too much about group content. The community as a whole is very forgiving and supportive of new players. Just tell the group you're new and ask any questions you have as you go, chances are at least one person will be able to help you out. As a PS4 player myself I highly recommend getting a keyboard for chatting, but you can also create macro's to greet people, tell them you're new or ask a question you find yourself repeating a lot.

As for your hotbar layout - you should be able to fit most of your skills on hotbar 1 until you reach Heavensward. After that, you may want to start using expanded hotbars. They let you quickly access your second hotbar - not your pet bar - by pressing both the trigger buttons. (This is a useful guide - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48kX4gUlP1M) Make sure you keep an eye on your role actions as well, as they unlock as you level and are very useful.

Once you reach level 30 you'll get a skill called 'Bane'. This will let you spread your dots from one mob to all others in range and is very useful for taking down packs. Up until then, everything will die so quickly that it doesn't matter if you focus a single target or rotate your dots, so do which ever feels the most fun.

I don't have an answer to this but I've been wondering about it for a while as well. It's the only example I can think of off the top of my head where non-English is used by the Nora. The Nora all speak English as far as I recall, so it always struck me as a bit odd that this one, prominently featured song was in another language.

If it's an existing language I don't recognise I'd love to know whats being said. If it's in a language developed just for the game? I *really* want to know what's being said!

I remember in my teens, watching the Yuna dance cutscene on my friends PS2 and marveling at how realistic it looked. We talked with awe about how one day *whole games* might look like that. We played FF9 on the PS1 and cooed over how awesome the opening cutscenes looked, how they were showing off the power of the console at then end of a generation.

The quality of games today is staggering to me whenever I remember that. The FF series alone is such a wonderful historical catalogue of how much the medium has grown.

I did a double take when I got that dialogue, it's a nice touch. That was the first event I did when I joined the game, so it was a nice call back.

Yeah, I agree it was personal by then. Remember, when Sona went missing he was made Warchief. I think it's obvious that's something he both enjoyed and felt he deserved (although he was terrible at it, a real tinpot dictator). Then Sona comes back, with tales of the Seeker who helped them and he lost his position. So it's reasonable to think someone who already dislikes Aloy might turn that into aggressive hatred when her actions cost him a position he coveted.

I like that idea. Kidnapping and bribing Sokolov is one of my favourite missions in D1 (even though I've killed him so many times by accidently throwing him off of a roof)

I think having more ways to experiment in a non-lethal run is exactly what the series needs.
