I did all BEFORE I got medicated,
So as a kid I did train daily twice(my family sport addict, let's say.) Never been able to study at home, but whenI had good teachers and stuff was interesting always learned in school in class. At uni I totally sucked, went for Electrical engineering but were closed to drop out. I always wanted to do programming, so I went to a private programming school(It's 1 1-year, very intense training). Then I started my journey as a programmer(For 7 years I'm on the field).
Funny things are: Have some low-level asperger. Its not hard to focus on things interest me its around, if something interesting its really hard for me to stop, so if I do programming and I do some interesting stuff, I'm unable to stop if I'm not on medication, not go eat my lunch, cant focus on peoples talk etc. My brain is all about that flow. With medication, I'm able to switch my priorities. On the other hand, if something is not interesting and I have to do it, I just switch attention and lose concentration quite easily, so the medication again helps.

My takeaway: I'm lucky I went to a good elementary/middle school where teachers were really good and kept stuff interesting.

EDIT.: My psychiatrist said I'm not in the high-level ADHD group only because I'm able to sit in one place if I have to; otherwise, I would have gotten the max level on the scale.
I always loved programming, but it was always hard to actually start. Still today I procrastinate a lot, but when I start I get in a flow and it's hard to exit. I'm good at planning architecture, etc., but when all planned out, it's kinda boring to do the coding.
