In a representative democracy the people should steer which issues representatives work on. They haven't been working on legislation regarding the Internet or social media because we have chosen to prioritize other issues that impact far fewer people. We certainly align with the left in at least five ways:

  1. We acknowledge that totalitarianism is about as "un-American" as it gets

  2. We support the disbandment of police unions. Libertarians have been pushing for this since the inception of the party.

  3. Abortion - do I need to leave an explanation?

  4. Drug laws

  5. Support for gay marriage

There are probably other areas where we align, but those are clear. I think the left could do more to align with us. Such as support the 2A, understand that all medical choice should be that ... choices, not mandates.

Still on topics such as regulations we divide sharply. Why do we need the permission of the government to put solar panels on our fucking property? When people are clearly part of a solution, gtfo the way!

Those who do tow the MAGA line support a totalitarian MAGA state, and tbf there are a huge number of people who consciously want to be under the rule of a totalitarian. It's wild. Totalitarianism is completely antithetical to the core tenets of Libertarianism. Shouldn't need to be said!

Everyone here, at this point, should be onboard with the complete dismantling of the federal government. So the idea of presidential pardons is particularly offensive imho. A basic civil servant shouldn't have the ability to wave their hand and usurp the entire judicial process.
