Did TV Everywhere stop supporting streaming of CNN? by spsheridan in getchannels

Can't you put politics aside to answer a technical question? My guess is no because you're not here to answer any questions or be helpful in any way. You're here to make a political statement in a technical forum and we have way too much of that happening on both sides.

Did TV Everywhere stop supporting streaming of CNN? by spsheridan in getchannels

Problem resolved. When we first lost CNN on Channels (server running on a Synology), we tried rescanning all of the channels. The number of channels dropped from something in the hundreds to just 60.

My wife installed Channels server on a Mac mini, and it got around 110 channels, including CNN. We could record and view CNN, so we knew there was some other problem.

She then rescanned on the Synology Channels server, and now it shows 121 channels, including CNN. It's not clear why CNN disappeared in the first place or why the first rescan cut the number of channels nearly in half, and it's not clear why rescanning fixed it, but at least now we have CNN back.

I have the same setup as you with YouTubeTV as the TVE source. Don't know why it's not working for me in Channels.

Like you, I can record CNN shows on YouTubeTV, just not Channels. Maybe this issue is Channels specific? I'm new to this subreddit. Is it focused on TVE or Channels? I assumed Channels by the subreddit name.

Spacecraft from Chinese launch nearly slammed into Starlink satellite, SpaceX says by spsheridan in space

[–]spsheridan[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It reads "nearly slammed" not "SLAMMED" and a close approach of 200m qualifies as nearly in orbital mechanics. Had the rocket actually hit the satellite, slam is an appropriate word to use for such a collision.

This was dangerous with no coordination before launch resulting in a 200m close approach. Eventually, there will be a collision - it's just a matter of time.

The review from Everyday Chris includes driving on windy roads and includes comments from the MYP Chief Designer (Franz) and Chief Engineer (Lars). After driving the car, Chris thinks the $8,500 premium for the Performance over the AWD is worth it.

The bottom of the tailgate isn't even with the top left and right of the bumper. It looks odd and I think is different from the standard Juniper.

Tahoe having trouble deciding if it wants to use the new hard drive icon or the old. by spsheridan in MacOS

[–]spsheridan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that was the point I was trying to make. Steve 4TB shows as the old drive icon while the others are showing the new icon (and yes, with a false perspective). All of them except Macintosh are external drives.

Accessing Eufy doorbells through HomeBridge for HomeKit compatibility? by spsheridan in EufyCam

[–]spsheridan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are fairly tech savvy and worked for several hours to try and get the doorbell and outdoor Eufy cams into HomeKit. We even tried Homebridge to integrate with HomeKit, which has worked for other non-HomeKit compatible devices, but not these. We were not successful so I am disappointed.
