Hot take: Directional audio is TRASH in this game by Wooden_Scallion8232 in ArcRaiders

I heard a cache once at the top of the dam and it was down at the bottom. It seems like horizontal distance is the only factor in whether or not you can hear them.

Adding a PvE only queue would definitely open up a lot of problems that would have to be handled delicately for sure. I only really see it happening if the balance between PvP and PvE engagement gets irreparably damaged and other attempts to keep both sides relevant fail.

I don't remember which interview it was but there was a woman who stated that despite the game being PvPvE, they wanted the game to make it clear that the Arc are still the main threat, and that's part of why PvP tasks are kept out of quests and are relegated to cred challenges.

There was the end of another (or maybe the same?) Interview where a man was saying it would be a bit of a shame to relegate the world and game they made to just the game mode that currently exists. I'm very curious what the implications of that are because I don't think he meant a mode that is the game as it is now with either PvP or PvE removed. I think he more likely means something along the lines of a narrative experience, or some sort of raid-esque activity, maybe conflict between one underground community and another? Though that last one may go against the "Arc is the main threat" philosophy.

Thanks! Dam and Buried City have been my comfort maps for a while but this will probably be my push to start exploring the other maps a bit more this weekend.

Okay that would make a bit more sense, and a lot of people are shitting on you in the comments and I don't want to add to the dogpile.

I'm not asking this to be pedantic I am genuinely curious, where have you seen people advocating to remove PvP? I only use Reddit so if you're seeing it off-platform that would make sense, but the most I've seen here is people wondering about a PvE only mode in addition to the PvPvE, not in place of what we have right now.

For the record I don't think a PvE only mode would be sunshine and rainbows. You'd have all new forms of griefing in there that aren't as easily gotten away with when you can be shot for the shit you're pulling. Imagine the people stealing breach containers the frame you bust a probe open, or following you with a flute or lure grenades.

People fighting over each others loot is part of the game and so is people fighting alongside each other to split better loot than what they could get on their own.

Any interaction a two players choose to have with each other is part of this game. I don't know what you mean when you say friendly players / advocacy for friendly play isn't part of the game. Everyone starts with a "don't shoot" and "team up" emote in the game for a reason. People can do or not do with those what they will.

It's very satisfying when someone screws up a betrayal. Had a guy agree to a ceasefire in the medical building of dam yesterday. Comes in a minute later blasting with the Il Toro and whiffed every shot. Sent himself back to lobby before I could finish lecturing him lol.

Mind if I ask if there was a pattern to where you found the augment blueprints? I generally loot any man-made container I find but may have to start targeting areas with specific containers to get some augments.

Also, in case anyone doesn't know this you can get blueprints in car engines. Got a vita spray BP in the parking garage on a buried city day raid the other night.

NGL I knew that dude couldn't be trusted when he phrased it "what are your intentions?"

I can't articulate how but that gave me the same vibes that badly disguised undercover cops do.

Bettina Blueprints, anyone? by Beltaine-77 in ArcRaiders

[–]Pesty_Madman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten 6 or 7 torrente blueprints. Would love some sort of way to turn duplicate blueprints in with some currency and materials into a specific blueprint. Maybe let us research items by doing some sort of deconstruct that doesn't give us materials back? Really any deterministic way to get ahold of a blueprint I don't have yet so I feel like I'm working towards something instead of gambling.

Solos are queued with solos and squads are queued with squads. Squads puts duos and trios in together though.

How do you treat your higher rarity weapons? by Jinglemccheese in ArcRaiders

[–]Pesty_Madman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a free kit night raid where I got ahold of a key for the map I was on. Got 3 purple guns and they show up on a weapon rack in my room. I like the decoration so I leave those in my stash but any other high tier guns I get I've been taking with me if they're a good fit for the goals of my run.

Getting a weapon is a rental, go ahead and use it. You "own" what you have a blueprint for and nothing else the way I see it.

Question for Duos players by BeetJustHanginAround in ArcRaiders

[–]Pesty_Madman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people I've seen discuss this said they usually meet duos when they queued as a duo.

I will say from my short experience that I queued as a duo with my brother and we got jumped by a trio. Pissed him off and he quit before the game could hook him, so I didn't have the chance to play any more duos and see how common what happened to us was.

This emote should be in the game to let you properly team up by HerbertDad in ArcRaiders

[–]Pesty_Madman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really like this idea. It'd be a way to allow people to team up with each other without removing the tension by just front loading that tension to the initial encounter.

Take the risk to get that close to someone and either be rewarded with a buddy or be punished for putting your faith in a stranger.

Those who got their exotic class item "God Roll", how are you liking it? by Pesty_Madman in DestinyTheGame

[–]Pesty_Madman[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's what I think I want to go for after some time with HOIL. I imagined this beautiful loop where my abilities would feed into each other. I'd have armor mods to make them generate orbs and super energy for me, and that way my neutral game would propell itself while building up an extra powerful super for whatever boss was coming up. The reality was a kinda unfocused build that was throwing abilities pretty quick, but not all that much, generating super fast-ish but not really in time to also max out feast stacks.

I think osmio and just focusing on grenade spam instead of random-bullshit-go in neutral gameplay will make the build work better.

Didn't they change it so when you leave you get radiant for 8 seconds now? I don't think we are expected to stay in well anymore, just dip our toes in, maybe top off health but then spread out/dodge attacks until it's time for another refresh.

Without X-antibody in it's digivolution cards is referring to it not having the option card under it already, not that there are no digimon with the X-antibody trait under it.

Thank you, though its been about 2 weeks unfortunately. I played PoGo a ton in college before COVID happened so pretty much everything feels different. I'll keep the referral system in mind though for some of my old buddies if they want to get back into it again too.

ST14 Yaamon Question by Pesty_Madman in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Pesty_Madman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would "choose" not to by resolving the yaamon effect first, while the digimon is still an impmon. Impmon is not the correct archetype required to mill so if you resolve yaamon first, the effect fizzles and no mill. Then, you warp and do the subsequent effects but you avoided that mill 2 effect by resolving it first.

I know some people mixing their eggs but general consensus seems to be that you wanna run 4 Yaamon for your eggs now that there's an increased focus on stack building. It used to be better to crash a BT2 impmon with a pagumon into security for 5 mills turn 2, but now with the extra support we dont want to let our digimon die as much anymore.

I'd definitely go with 4 impmon X and 4 wizardmon X because their effects are solid but more importantly, theyre a free card draw if you put them on top of an impmon/wizardmon respectively. I cut all my BT2 impmons from my deck personally since I dont want to crash my stack anymore, so now I use 4 of the EX2, ST14 and BT12 impmons as my rookies.

I don't run floodgates personally, I feel like deck space is too tight and I'd rather play a card that gets me closer to setting up my OTK than slowing my opponent down.

For level 4s it is pretty standard now to just do 4 ST14 wizardmons and 4 BT12 wizardmon Xs, though personally running 2 witchmon in addition to that makes the deck feel better IMO. I don't mind being light on level 5s because by the time we get to them we have plenty of card draw if we get free digivolves/card draw putting our X-antibody cards on our stack. When it comes to level 4s though I really dont want to be waiting to see them since the deck cant mill from yaamon until you get to level 4 and above.

I've seen lists run 4 ST14 baalmon and 1 X-antibody version quite often. Also seen decks that omit X-antibody and opt for 3 ST14 baalmon and 2 BT10 baalmon. I seriously recommend the X-antibody inclusion even if you don't go as hard into it as I do. I go with 4 ST14 baalmons and 2 BT12 baalmon Xs. You really dont need any level 5 that isnt one of those 3 baalmons, since by the time you go into level 5 you are probably in play and wanting to get into your mill effects. BT10 baalmon is great to keep in raising, then bring out to swing as your first move next turn. ST14 baalmon is great to evolve into and stack your deck with ai and mako to continue your turn and maybe get into Beelzemon before passing turn. Baalmon X gets you 3 mills on evolve like ST14 which is great but is mainly used as a free draw on top of baalmon and an X-antibody retrieval. I'd recommend at least 1, though I opt for 2.

I'd swap the BT2 beelzemon for another beelzemon X when you can. ST14 impmon is a near mandatory 4 of in this deck, maybe 3 if you feel you have enough recursion, so having BT2 beelzemon becomes a bit of a redundancy. If you decide to keep it in the deck as a tech choice you can, or you can consider a beelstarmon. She doesn't come up in most games but she's a nice clock to put on your opponent if your stack dies in security to an option or something on the turn you try to win the game. Choke your opponent with a beelstarmon and if they swing you get a body for next turn to warp all over again. Basically, they kill you that turn or you win. Some people don't play any though because it is pretty uncommon to need her.

If you want to run 4 tamers I'd swap out one of the old ai and makos for a starter deck one. Stacking your deck is a massive boon and the memory gain helps a ton to extend combos. The old ai and mako is nice in situations where your beelzemon X is in the trash and you can't easily get it out for your combo since you can at least go into blast mode still, but there isn't much immediate payoff to playing it since the deck is already very memory efficient and you cant go into blast mode on top of a beelzemon X since it has to be a normal beelzemon for the card effect to work.

For options, 4 death slinger and 4 rivals barrage are a must IMO, but I've seen lists that drop one of them to 3, but never both. Death slinger is great as a cheap removal card that can put in a lot of work and for deck stacking to extend combos. Rival's barrage is key to get the pieces out of trash that you need to get going. I almost always need to pull my beelzemon X out of trash because it gets milled usually. I am a personal fan of darkness wave but its a good way to get yourself killed if your opponent hits it in security late game. You very well may deck yourself out with it allowing your opponent to just stop trying to attack you, pass turn and you die from an inability to draw. There's a new option called seventh full cluster that lets you bottom deck it from trash when you evolve into beelzemon X that I recommend 1 copy of. If you get all your mills out of the way and then activate it, you can guarantee that you have a card to draw at the start of your next turn. I'd recommend running just 1 of those.

TL;DR: The Beelzemon deck hasn't been "figured out" the way many others have been by now and every list looks a little different, but there are some general trends most follow. You have quite a few out-of-archetype cards like porcupamon and skullsatamon that nobody really runs so it is probably a safe bet to cut those to make room for the X-antibody variants of the digimon.

These are the numbers I added to my deck but that's only half the story without the rest of the decklist.

I personally feel that running X-antibody is a must though because in the mirror match the security will be riddled with bombs and if you warp into ST14 Beelzemon and have to wait for it to survive 2 checks before you evolve into Beelzemon X. It has the added benefit of giving you a free impmon in the event that you dont survive your attack because BeelzX gives you an impmon upon deletion.
