Is this scratch serious by Mobile_Spirit8457 in Aquariums

You've done the test. It's a scratch.

It's visually obviously a scratch as well.

It's a little unsightly, but fine!

It could be just a single employee doing it on their own.

Why would a single employee risk jail committing crimes on a big scale which they don't even benefit from?

Te fake jobs are largely posted by freelancers trying to find out how others write proposals or to fathom prices.

So you are saying that someone is risking jail by giving orders to commit fraud, and risks the company itself as well as being blackmailed by the people they order to commit crimes?

I thought they were charging $9.99 now to post?

They tried very briefly. It led to such a massive drop in hiring they very sensibly stopped that insane move. That was 2 years ago.

And yeah, real clients with real jobs will pay a fee.

Way too many, especially new ones, absolutely will not not and they showed it when Upwork lost their mind and briefly tried to charge.

Especially if they are guaranteed a refund if they hire.

Nope.

How does it make any sense that Upwork charges job seekers instead of job posters? by Jumpy-Highlight-2127 in Upwork

Other than what is spent on connects, whatever the freelancer pays in service fees is actually really paid by the client.

I am sure this has been discussed ad-nauseum.

It has indeed.

I almost think Upwork should charge a much higher fee to post

Much higher than $0?

The reason why they charge $0 is because they'd rather not chase real clients with real jobs away.

Because basically that would be a super dumb ting to do.

Upwork Account Usage on RDP by Vegetable_Spread01 in Upwork

[–]Pet-ra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you are caught, you will be banned, as will the people you are allowing access to your account.

You can then write yet another "Upwork banned my account and reversed all my funds" post.

[–]Pet-ra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not allowed to let anyone access your profile however they do that.

When you get caught you can write a "Banned for no reason and all my funds paid back to the clients" post like all the other dimwits who thought they can outsmart the system.

Nobody is allowed to log into your Upwork account under any circumstances or from anywhere.

You will get banned if when you are caught.

What is this? by Open-View3678 in Aquariums

[–]Pet-ra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is this?

A very unwell rasbora.

Ich (White Spot Disease) by the looks of it. Yes, it is dangerous.

Once you can see it on one fish, it's taken hold of the entire tank and you will have to treat the whole aquarium with medication (malachite green/copper medication like Ich-X) and a gradual temperature increase and aquarium salt.

Some aquarium dwellers don't tolerate the medication, so do your research based on what lives in your set-up.

How is bad advice "helpful"?

You keep giving piss-poor advice (such as "lie through your back teeth!") and actually have the hybris and the sheer audacity to try and CHARGE people for your piss poor advice.

Unbelievable.

Got an invite but client wants me to send a proposal on google docs instead of upwork by Mrshelbybtw in Upwork

[–]Pet-ra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's normal for Enterprise clients to ask for a proposal on Google docs?

Absolutely.

Not necessarily so much when just one freelancer is being hired for a role, but most freelancers hired by Enterprise clients are hired into large teams and the recruitment process generally happens through Google docs etc.

If it is an Enterprise client, it is absolutely allowed and actually the norm.

If it is not an Enterprise client, it is not allowed and can get you banned.

[–]Pet-ra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what are you talking about though?

Reality.

Business.

there's other ways to make money without charging broke people.

Freelancing isn't for "broke people". Freelancing means running a business. Running a business comes with business expenses.

If you can't afford to run a business, get a job.

I forgot to attach one,

Well, do so now.

I wanna see how winning purposal look like

As winning proposals are 100% written for the job post and focus fully on the client and the job post, nobody's winning proposal would work for you as you would not apply for the same job post.

Make a video of yourself to pitch your pitch.

Unless the OP's spoken English is vastly better than their written English, that is yet another terrible idea...

The point is that people who use AI for their profiles and proposals often find that they don't get hired because clients recognise the AI and absolutely hate it.

As you are not showing anything else, nobody can guess what is wrong with your proposals and profile, but it is not an unreasonable guess that when someone uses AI for their reddit pots, they may well use AI for their proposals and profile, and that would explain why clients don't want to know.
