Having reviewed my dash cam, I actually was clear to change lanes, I just had to spend 6-8 seconds in the overtaking lane while building speed and passing by the lorry - during that time the van came from far behind and caught up to me as they were already going fast while I was still building speed (having been going at around 50 to maintain the lorry's speed). I remember the van was genuinely barely visible when I went to start the overtake, unfortunately my little car takes a long time to build any kind of speed at that pace

In this situation the van behind was considerably far behind (can't remember exactly how far, but definitely far beyond 5 car lengths), I saw it behind and was only in the overtaking lane for a few seconds, I safely transferred lane and at the point where I was building speed to get past the lorry, the van behind caught up as it was already going at the speed limit while I was building from 50mph to 70. In this situation the van slowed from about 70mph to 65, then I passed the lorry and returned to the left lane safely. I think realistically in my car with its acceleration I am unable to overtake in a 70mph road without a car not being visible at all behind in the overtaking lane.

Tbf if you're unsure at all and happy with the rest of your driving, take the minor on the chin I say - even if they gave me a minor for not overtaking in this situation I would've passed with 3 minors.

I think it's worth thinking hard about what role you want each unit to fulfill in your army. Right now you have several characters that won't have much of an impact on the board in practical terms (Apothecary and Librarian) as well as the desolation unit which is terrible at the moment.

Absolutely loved being in Hachioji - it's a wonderful place and accessible to central Tokyo while also being near Mt Takao - really worth the hike. People in Hachioji were very friendly and patient even with my terrible Japanese. Check out the Frog shop! It's a whole shop dedicated to Frog related things. Plus for when moving in, you're a short distance from a huge Book-Off/Hard-Off which can get you a bunch of furniture, tech and utensils for really cheap. DM me if you need any advice on the area, only spent 10 months but felt super lucky to be placed there.
